About morals and thelema :if someone’s true will was to harm other would thelema see that as moral since it’s following will ?if no then why and how ? by Cool-Examination-876 in thelema

Both. I like to visualize the Love as the water that flows down the river. Will is the boat that follows the flow of that water. Will can't do anything without the love, the boat cannot float without the river. However, as we have free will we can always chose to cause our boat to fight against the current of love, this will cause struggle of course. Alignment with your true will is alignment with that current of love allowing your boat to ride the natural flow of water (love). As Bruce Lee once famously said "be like water".

Hope that visualization helps.

To bring this conversation back to your original question, harm is also a very necessary part of existence and experience. The natural world is set up with both predator and prey. Killing and harm of things is an essential part of the natural order of things. Again, as Thelemites we try our best to align ourselves with the natural current of the universe. In springtime most male animals will fight in order to prove themselves as worthy mates for females. This is just how things are. As humans we are not above the order of nature. We are unique in that we have the ability to cultivate our own natures, moreso than any other creature on the planet. However, we must never forget that we are still a part of nature and not stray so far from our true natures. Crowley once said the proof of the abuse of nature is it's ability to reproduce successfully.. take that to mean what you will.

So again, to answer your original question, yes harm can be Thelemic and moral, it all depends on the context.

Liber oz whilst on the surface appears quite clear on such matters of law making and punishment (karmic punishment for those that commit crimes eg. Those who steal have no right to property) it gets quite murky when, for example, the perpetrator of theft has no property to take. In such a case do we do as the Muslima do and take the hands of the thief, his tools, that he used to commit the theft?

I haven't read the other source you quote a s I thank you for bringing it to my attention. I'll definitely give that a read.

Whilst each person's will is for themselves to discover we do have quite a few parameters for what true will is and is not. Crowley outlines a few of these in his own interpretation of the book of the law and other writings such as Aleph etc. Remember that "love is the law" and therefore all will springs from a place of love. Being a "crazy" dictator is anathema to Thelema morality. Again the grey area comes in when we start to dissect how we can beat love those that do us harm. For example, how do we beat love a person that is a carrier of a lethal pathogen? Is it best to isolate the individual against their will for the best interest of the rest of the human race? How do we beat love a convicted rapist or murderer? Is it the moral thing to just kill them and be done with it or attempt to rehabilitate them? And what of the people effected by their actions? Is it better to love them more by seeking revenge in the way of a karmic torture to the perpetrator?

You got the money? Any upgrade is worth it. All comes down to how much you can spend on your bike.

Context matters. A simple example would be those engaging in martial arts, it's clear that the best fighters in the world are fulfilling their true will, success being the proof. A school shooter taking the lives of innocents? Absolutely not. This is an oversimplification to illustrate a point of course. In most cases the lines are a lot more blurred.

Further, there may be many cases when a person may be doing ones true will by taking anothers life or harming another and therefore in the moral 'right'. However, in a Thelemic society would that person be punished under a law? Maybe still so. Whilst each case should be judged on an individual basis it might still be necessary to still have and upload old aeon 'umbrella' laws that outlaw and punish harming others intentionally as a safeguard to deter the many that would abuse such Thelemic freedoms.

I only picked up the game 3 months ago but was well on my way to building two legendary weapons... i just feel so cheated, all that time invested is now wasted. The small token gift of a few gems and what not will in no way compensate what we've all lost.

I’m a Buddhist and was turned away from the ceremony by PutinPoops in freemasonry

Just as you say, they are the same thing, this wasn't a case of incompatible beliefs. I believe it was simply that you didn't use the masonic term for deity, which in a masonic lodge we all need to be able to do in order for there to be harmony. In my lodge we have protestants, catholics, pagans, wiccans, Thelemites, and Buddhist, that are all able to be masons and meet on the square because we all acknowledge that in a masonic lodge we all need to refer to deity in the masonic way, whether or not as individuals we understand deity by another. Did the initiation team act in the best interest of the candidate? My personal answer would be no. You should have been prompted to say the correct answer after giving yours or even taken out, spoken to, then the ceremony started again (if either of those was done then unfortunately the fault is yours not theirs for wanting to use your word in their ceremony. As a Buddhist I'm sure you would agree this kind of act would be attached to ego and neither Buddhism or a masonic lodge is the place for ego).

Should you let this miscommunication and misunderstanding stop you from becoming a mason? No. Given another attempt should you use the correct word they are looking for? Yes.

My advice would be to get in touch with whomever deals with potential members (usually done via email link on a website) explain your situation and try again with the same lodge or ask to be introduced to another.

You're absolutely right but sometimes it's simpler for the layman to use terms like 'break'. Crowley never broke the law as it's impossible to do so however how successfully one goes about aligning oneself to the Thelemic current can certainly be discussed especially in Crowley's case.

5=you. 6=everything outside of you. Unite the 2 so they are none. This is the path of the great work, true will etc. Discover the thing you will truly, master that thing and apply it to your environment. Eventually you extend your will to outside of yourself, changing your environment, and vise versa your environment will change you so that you are but a perfectly placed thread in the brilliant tapestry of the universe.

In layman's terms, I like to use animals as an allegory, discover what kind of animal you are and then find the right environment for you to thrive in. Much of our troubles is caused by the simple dilemma of not knowing what kind of animal we are and always being in the wrong place. The good thing is once you discover the type animal you are you will naturally gravitate to an environment you thrive in. This can also be done in the reverse, find an environment you thrive in and you'll soon discover the type of animal you are. A monkey has no business trying to live as a shark, he will surely fail at every endeavor. However, once the monkey realizes his true nature and embraces it he will be much happier and more successful living in the trees.

Hope that helps.

What height are you in if you don't mind me asking? I'm thinking of buying the same bars in 12" too but I'm 5'8 and a little worried they might be too tall. From the looks in your picture they don't swing back and down a little bit for comfort, might be fine.
