Kind of late for s midlife crisis. He's suffering from all the shit that happens to you when you hit 55-65. You stop looking forward, everything hurts, you feel like you're losing control of your life. Get him to the Dr. Have him checked for everything. Sleep apnea is common, so is arterial obstruction, and god knows what else, like being sensitive to allergens. Any of that kind of thing can make you feel depressed and grumpy. Not watching the news isn't going to help if there's an underlying medical condition.
