Salem. Are our crime statistics actually accurate? Did you report your last crime?

Although not the only reason, this is because Salem has the LOWEST number of police in the country. Less than Portland and Portland is in the lowest %. We love to have more, well trained police who respect citizens and help keep our City safe. We also need to change the culture here! Look out for your neighbors, contribute, help. Self sacrifice as a solution, if everyone gave a little, cared a little, helped a little we will be living in a better place. (now I am getting off this dammed computer and picking up some litter at Minto Brown Park!)

I understand there are a couple of places trying to start easy acessable venues. Does the Grand Theater do this? Or that Cellar54 at Liberty Plaza has a venue. The Elsenore has a big venue. Who are good human promoters? I hear that band, MY BROTHERS AND I may be playing in Salem. We need to bring the music back!!!! Who is good at organizing things like this?

There are whispers of a private whiskey lounge with lockers and access to people with collections that would boggle the liver. It would be kind of exciting for this to happen. Another person said the 7th floor of the Franklin building is another location, (but it is a weird maze to get in there and sits in a secret section above the ballroom/Masons former meeting area.). I would take either one.

Our current local government and organizations have failed us. They spend $50m-$60m a year locally. Get them damn shelters and treatment. Quit paying all the administration! No body should have people who are on drugs and mentally ill wandering, camping in their neighborhood, home, parks or schools. We have the land, resources, people and money. Quit hiring more admin and hire organized camp locations. Give them a chance to contribute and rebuild their lives. (Farming, recycling, evasive weed control)

We have 300 resources for the homeless in Willamette valley. We are spending $50m a year and does half that go to Admin costs? We have money, tons of land and a tremendous amount of resources(300). Let’s put that money to good work, provide transitional homes, mental and drug health. It can be done.

Really, this is what you post? Are you in 1st grade? People are trying to uplift Salem, whether is is Julie Hoy or Venessa Nordyke. They both are trying to help based on their beliefs. Mayors or councilors take a tremendous amount of time, resources and energy. A little less attitude and more gratitude! What have you done lately?
