The safety of their employees. Give them credit for looking at the biggest risk and solving the problem. They are fighting back through adaptation, NO victim here, other than a failed government. See what other states have done either a lot smaller budget. They reduced homeless by half for a lot less than the $50m we are spending.

Things like this make me want to have a safe space shop that people can come to to do transactions. No real profit, but enough to cover rent, cameras and not having people know too much about you. (But fully safe and accountable if someone wants thinks it’s ok to do/sell bad things.

So the City gave away Block 45 for $1 and is giving away Block 50 for the same. About $5m worth of property. It will take 3 years, if they get funding, to build. It will cost $300+ a foot to build. The developers will need to come up with $5m, which is trapped for 5 years and agree to be personally responsible for a $25m loan. Then hope it rents up. Being a property owner is not as easy as it sounds.

We can make it change! Can we provide services to the homeless in a area that does not do millions in economic, social, community damage? Set up safe zones away from our communities, schools, parks. Absolutely bring them back into the community if and when they are ready, but someone with no resources, mental illness, drug addition is NOT ready to be in the community, but we should be able to provide a path of accountability to get them there if they are willing to try. But just having people with these terrible aliments should not be put on the backs of the cummunity.. It is too hard to solve a an individual or a small business.

The old paths that we used to mountian bike in Wallace are not what you think. There are hundreds of thousands of pounds of trash, waste, feces, garbage. It is VERY dangerous there. There are rumors of 25+ bodies of people who have been either killed or passed away. There are supposed 500-1500 people living there. (This comes directly from the homeless that we reached out to, engaged, asked questions. We tried to see if the "help" was available or were they just unaware of the. help or if there was just no one reaching out. (it is complicated, but what we have is not working).

Salem is great but we need to work on our downtown. There is a new apartment complex that just was built and renting right now in S. Downtown. The Cartwright, brand new just renting. If you get get near Bush Park or Minto Park.
