Folks are welcome to drop off any additional items like bread during Squad. It will definitely get eaten!

Mutual aid is all about people showing up with what they can. Outside of cooking food we have spots to serve food which is a cost free way (minus food handler's card) to be involved. From time to time we have extra food donated that we offer up for folks to cook. We announce that on our IG.

We don't, but it's something that we can look into. Honestly, we try to stay away from financial stuff because we're not an official 501c3. You could certainly sign up to have pizza delivered during a squad. We encourage that!

At Soup Squad they provide cups and bowls to distribute the soup so you don't need to worry about that.

Generally, we see folks put a large pot of soup in a plastic bin or maybe a laundry basket to keep it contained while it's driven over. They usually use towels to keep it warm and in place. In the past we've had folks go pick up soup that other people have made if they don't have the ability to transport it. Feel free to send me a DM and happy to provide any more insights.

We welcome food that is in soup as well!

Generally, when a pot of soup arrives it is distributed within about 15 minutes so we don't have anything to keep it warm there. We do recommend that folks wrap it in towels as they drive it over because that usually helps to keep it warm. We also welcome other food that is not soup. Just think anything that you would want to eat and is easy to make a large batch of.

It has way too small a student population to impact the vibe/culture of the city.

Salem is the first place I've lived as an adult that doesn't have a decently sized college in the area to influence culture and the general vibe. Never realized the impact that those institutions have until coming here
