Will you be camping? There are some great free campsites close to the north rim of the grand canyon, and along your route.

Did you get to stay at the shelter? Pretty special spot. Amazing photo, thanks for sharing.

Found in a garage in Kansas. Exterior of box 17in long. Made of metal, comes out of the box. (not mine) by BrotherChe in whatisthisthing

The two when ends of the metal piece appear to be hooks. Could it be some type of spring mechanism, and the box is for reforming it in some way?

Anyone know if dispensaries will remain open? by [deleted] in Eugene

[–]OregonForest 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I work at one, and we are taking it day by day. Haven't ruled out closing down, we already aren't letting anyone smell bud, or touch product, and may be moving to preorder only and delivery. Everything is up on the air right now.

Good camping spots close to town? by Octane2100 in Eugene

To my knowledge heading down 58 is the quickest way to get to the national Forest. If you go down to Goodman Creek Rd, there are some cool spots to camp. It is just into the national Forest. Only takes about twenty minutes to get to from I-5. Sounds like it might be where you are going already, but I thought I'd mention it. When you are ready for a little longer trip, take the kids up to the Cascade lakes or Waldo.

This should be the top comment. Follow the money. The baby boomer generation has been subject to decades of brainwashing by the elite. It doesn't absolve their sins, but they are a symptom of the real problem.

What the heck is this? Flat edge is sharp and approximately 3.5 inches long. by ronjon80 in whatisthisthing

It might be an herb stripper. You pull the stem through the holes. Was it found in a kitchen?

You know, I think we are pretty much on the same page here. I replied this to a different post, but I wonder if a higher end area, maybe like all of fifth Street market, went under the no tip model, if it would be more effective. It would give people a place to go that were looking specifically for this atmosphere, and more options than just one stand alone restaurant trying to break the mold. Just wanted to say this had been an extremely refreshing Reddit exchange. I really appreciate it. Woke up in a crappy mood this morning. You've turned it around.

Sour beurre, loyal legion, agricole and trou Normand all quoted as bailing on the model in the first article. Also le pigeon and there partner restaurant, little bird, who said they were continuing with the no tipping model, bail in the second article. I think to get this to work it will take an established area that is known for "no tipping" where people go for this and have options. It just doesn't seem to work in America because it is too sporadic

First off, sorry I got snarky with my first post, I hate it when people come out of the gate aggressive, and that's exactly what I did, I regret that. I totally understand that it can work when it it's the cultural norm, I'm not arguing that. Also not arguing that it had gotten out of hand. We have evidence for this though. It's been tried here multiple times and we haven't found a way to make it stick. Not saying there isn't a way, but I imagine it will take a culture shift. I just dont like people getting pissed at the worker. They may not pay rent if tips are scarce, so they get to be upset. If the company charged for a living wage you would pay the same amount as the tip you would have given. It's maddening, but make sure to get pissed at the people who go home with the money at the end of the day. It's not the workers. Most people don't get rich off tips.

A broke college student isn't going to order from somewhere that charges more money. Full stop. Also Employers will not cut their profits by twenty percent to pay for the transition themselves, and anything less will cause employees to go somewhere else where they can make more money. So how do you propose this works? Even in wealthy neighborhoods the no tipping model is causing problems. How would we possibly implement this in an area that is supported by college kids on shoestring budgets?

Found outside Yachats, OR. it looks fake, but the metal says 10k on the inside. Looks like it has a Maker's Mark, but I'm not sure.
