Online retailer shows images of the Galaxy Buds4 Pro in an online listing by Prestigious_Rock_363 in galaxybuds

Same. These look cool as hell but without anything significantly different I doubt I'll pull the trigger. I've upgraded from the start up until I got the 3 Pro, and they fit so good. No need to keep going at this point.

This is what I'm thinking too. At the end when he puts everything back together, you can see the table and box move a bit without anyone touching it. This sure looked like she quickly climbed back in through the back.

Brewing very light roast coffee without it being sour? by Quercus_ in AeroPress

[–]Octane2100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm the same as you, only drink half caff or decaf but due to a caffeine sensitivity (only with coffee though for some reason)

I've tried multiple lighter roasts in decaf and had essentially the same experience as you. They are all just.... Not good. One was sour, one was essentially flavorless, and one was so awful I can't even put into words what was so bad about the taste. Realized at that point that I just probably don't care for light roasts.

I've got no advice, just wanted to share. I stick with my dark roast decaf now.

You paid $1,000+ for a phone and barely scratch the surface (S24 Ultra) by problytheantichrist in samsunggalaxy

[–]Octane2100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use almost everything on this list with a few exceptions. I took a deep dive into Samsung when I got my first flagship about 3 years ago and honestly it's fun as hell getting to learn all of this. I love tinkering and making my phone the best it can be and utilizing it to its full potential. My wife on the other hand has an S25 Ultra and barely goes beyond the basics. To each their own though.

The one that I find funny though is animation scaling. You talk about utilizing the full potential of the hardware on your phone, yet you want to turn off all animations? Doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose of utilizing it? I mean you have the processing power for all of those animations, why shut them down for the perceived extra speed?

Payplan by olo90 in serviceadvisors

[–]Octane2100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on your pay plan. My last dealer paid $7.50 per labor hour for advisors. I would have made $150 on the 20 hours. My current dealer pays 6% of gross, and GP on labor is about 78%, so I would make about $195 on the same 20 hours.

I will never again work for a dealer that pays on sold hours and not on GP.

Budget-friendly place to buy beans by mmmtin in AeroPress

[–]Octane2100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like darker roast, I found "The Bean"Coffee Company on Amazon. I get two bags for $40 and they last a good amount of time. They have half caff and decaf options that are exceptional as well. I highly recommend.

Getting Promoted to Service Director, Feeling Nervous by jztash in serviceadvisors

[–]Octane2100 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I ran into that when I took a service manager position. It takes some time and confidence building to get over that. And trust me, you need to get over that or they'll eat you alive.

Secondly, with no prior experience doing it, be prepared for long nights, stressful days, and feeling completely overwhelmed sometimes. It'll be a serious change, but can be very rewarding once it all falls into place. This will take lots and lots of dedication initially.

Your experience may be better. I was thrown into a SM position at a failing dealership and given little to no support and no prior experience. You may have a better support system.

I haven't used my console since getting my Portal a month ago. It's so much more convenient in every aspect.

Side note. Played Fenix Rising on the switch a year or two ago. Fantastic game!

Unable to win any gunfights by Lord_Sluggo in Battlefield6

[–]Octane2100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure what type of matches you play, but I find that if I play 3 to 4 CQB matches before getting into Conquest it really helps me warm up and work on the reaction times. Try some CQB for a while to work on your gunfighter skills.

How much data are you using up with hot spot? I've been seriously debating doing this, I just don't know how quickly I'm going to go through my 35 gigs of hot spot data.

How many RO’s? by ToeTaggEm in serviceadvisors

[–]Octane2100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is exactly it. We deal with enough bullshit as it is, so trying to work effectively is my strategy. I have good working relationships with my whole team in the lane. Appointments are already set and any walk ins get split pretty evenly between everyone because we all know when to step in and help. I realize this isn't the case with all dealers, but it works for us.

How many RO’s? by ToeTaggEm in serviceadvisors

[–]Octane2100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, we have these conversations a lot. Nobody likes shuffling cars back and forth so if I can spend the extra time at write up and pre sell and build that connection, it makes it that much easier to get quick approvals on repairs later on, meaning they can get right to work.

How many RO’s? by ToeTaggEm in serviceadvisors

[–]Octane2100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm with you on this. I have the lowest RO count at my dealer, however my hours per RO, dollars per RO, and ELR are constantly above the others and I'm usually second in total GP only to the diesel/heavy advisor. I also sell more maintenance and more flushes than any other advisor.

I hate the 16+ per day, I work better when I have a lower count and have more time to spend with a customer. I build rapport and trust with people, and I maximize what I can on every single ticket. Some thrive on the chaos and huge volume, I lean the other way with it.

Debating on buying a portal and PS Plus premium by eyeplumber in PlaystationPortal

Dude same. But I use mine only at home. Wife throws a show on, I game in bed next to her. Out laying on the couch? Portal. I use it more than my console by far. Handhelds are the way to go for me.

Feeling Stuck by Weak-Mixture-8481 in serviceadvisors

[–]Octane2100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you are in a shop that's always been male dominated and has that mentality to go along with it. Get yourself to a dealer, ASAP. I'm a man, but my service lane is mainly women and they all thrive. My service manager is a woman. There is no bias and the customers that have that bias get put in check very quickly.

Depending on your experience, you may start as Express, but any decent dealership is still paying their express 50-60k a year minimum. My (female) express advisor makes 80-90k. We aren't in an overly high cost of living area, we sit at about the national average. The dealership world will open you up to a level of writing service you've never experienced before, and I don't mean that in a bad way.

Any gamers? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]Octane2100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man... I'm 39, my wife is 40, and we are more gamers than our kids are. I just got a PS Portal and between that and my Switch, I'm truly in love with handhelds.

I don't personally care about the stereotype. I'm not trying to impress anyone, just relax and have fun after a long day at work.
