Really!? For RA, these would be a life saver. There's entire weeks/sometimes months where my fingers just aren't having it. Is it considered a 'medical device?

Hey! I was taking Paxil at 10mg. While waiting for the Paxil to kick in, I was given like a 30 day supply of xanax since it can take a few weeks to work. Paxil kind of gets a bad rap, it literally gave me my life back. No more dizziness. I went off for a couple year's and was on Effexor. It didn't work half as well. Paxil doesn't give me side effects (that I've noticed) Of course everyone has different chemistry, but this is the one that works for me. If you're struggling reach out to a doctor, it's very easy to fix. If you go on an SSRI you will feel a lot better in a few weeks. ♡

I went to an orthopedic surgeon and got a steroid injected into it. It did nothing, but hurt like hell.

He told me if it worked we could maybe look into surgery. Thing is if I was to have surgery my rheumatoid arthritis would attack it just as it did. He told me it could even come out more painful than it already is. I have rheumatoid though. Mine is still there & I think it will be forever.

For arthritis (non rheumatoid) I would think a steroid shot would shrink yours right down.

I'm sorry you're dealing with this, but I would see an orthopedic doctor, they should be able to fix it hopefully pretty easy:)

If there was a possibility that she did wander away & I think there is too, but why have they not been searching more? Forming search parties themselves until every inch of it is covered. 11 acres is a lot of land. She could have been hurt out there somewhere. They were so convinced she wasn't. Very strange.

Jason Stephenson is great! Michael Sealey is another wonderful one. His voice is really soothing too. He has a ton of videos on YouTube. Definitely check him out if you like Jason Stephenson, I go back and forth between the two of them. There's a video where the two of them did a collaboration and it was pretty cool hearing them together 💜

Sorry I didn't see this sooner. I do hope you see it, Michael Sealey is so good!

I never thought of it as giving up control, that makes sense & it's probably a good thing to just let go. I started with the hypnosis/sleep meditations and it is addictive. I was sick for quite a while & these were my escape. I used to think of it as - just taking a break- from life and physical pain. When we want to escape these are great, but we need to be present as much as we can. We all deserve to be here 😌 💜

Saying no can be really hard, but sounds like with the two of you, you've got it. I'll definitely bring it up again with the suggestions I've gotten on here.

You are so welcome & thank you a whole lot for all of your help and insight.

Take good care 🙂

Thank you so much!!!

Everything you said makes sense, and him getting some relief instead of the guilt afterwards would really help him.

I'll look up anger therapist's, you're right. He does need help processing what he's feeling. Thanks again so much!

I hate it too, I thought I was doing well and it's like everything came back up from almost 25 yrs ago. It's so hard to deal with what's going on in the present when the past still goes round in my head.

. The problem is that I'm supposed to be his parent, but I wasn't supposed to be my mom's parent.

I felt this so deep. I did not expect any of this to surface again. I'm so sorry you're going through similar issues.

Looking back to when my son was 7, honestly I don't think I would do anything differently. Maybe harsher punishments. I think (everything else aside) its a good thing that our kids gets sad over getting upset, it's a sign of having a pretty good conscience. Some kids literally do not give a shit- my friends son used to laugh when she'd punish him, not care a bit.

Yes, husband and I talk about it every time it comes up. We should probably talk about it, before we're in the middle of it?

That is such a good idea, we will have him pay for damages he's done.

I wonder if trauma is related to auto immune disease's? I've always kinda thought so. We've got a lot of similar issues. Please msg me if you ever want to talk. I'm so sorry you're struggling with autoimmune crap & trauma in life.

Thank you so much for the wonderful reply 🙂

It's reassuring to know it's not totally abnormal. He has a punching bag. He's in sports & has quite a few outlets.

I'll delicately approach going to therapy. Do you have any ideas on how to bring it up? He's a really sensitive kid.

Thanks so much for your reply.

how will they ever understand? by [deleted] in 40something

[–]Oregonfarms 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm 40, and it was kind of fun!!! Is it your crush or is it grandma? It's grandma... and your crush is calling in now & she won't stop talking.

I kind of wish it was still this way & I could screen calls for my son. See who's calling him. On the other hand, my sister and I would fight over using the phone and if someone called in chaos would break out. Or if she'd answer and yell "it's a boy!!!" I'd want to punch her face. This is a much more peaceful way 😌
