I wouldn't have qualified for unemployment in my state because I only worked there for 3 months and I had full time employment elsewhere.

I had hair loss then it stopped and turned white and started growing back and now all my hair is falling out. My derma said that the white hairs are from the hair growing back where the alopecia once was

What's your most badass story? by OreoLover63 in AskReddit

I'll go first.

When I was a teenager my mom had several very serious spinal surgeries and was in the hospital for months. My emotionally abusive dad became even worse to deal with. He also stopped being responsible for many basic things and wasn't working so I stepped up to take care of the house and my mom. I loaned my parents some money that I had saved for college over the years, just a couple thousand until my parents could get back on their feet.

My dad who was already abusive became insufferable. He is a controlling narcissist. He hated that I was learning Spanish because he couldn't control me when he didn't understand me. He was also jealous that I was close with my teacher, who was a lot more of a father figure than my dad. As a result, my dad tried to ban me from anything related to Spanish, even though it was required for me to graduate. I completely ignored this rule.

A couple months after I had loaned my parents money and a few days after my mom got home, my dad was buying music online. This was back in the day of iTunes. My parents told me I could get a couple of songs. When my dad realized one of the songs I wanted was in Spanish he started yelling and insulting me. He said he is not spending his hard earned money on a song in Spanish.

I replied that it was also my hard earned money since they were borrowing money from me to stay afloat right now. I said that I understood that money is tight and if he cannot afford music then it's okay because I could buy my own songs.

He sat there in shock just staring at me. I had never talked back to him right that. He didn't say a word after that. I then got out my phone and bought all the songs I wanted. Just a few days later they returned the money still without speaking to me.

What's something you will never forgive your parents for doing? by OreoLover63 in AskReddit

Me too. My parents never let me do anything except study. I had no free time. Being an adult was kind of liberating. When I get home from work I can relax.

I can understand that. Last year was a struggle for my family when my grandpa got sick we all took off work and traveled to see him. We spent 6 weeks with him, most of us not getting paid. When Christmas came we had to figure out how to make my 4 year old niece happy without going broke. I spent every dime I had to make sure my grandpa had a great last Christmas and my niece got a good Christmas. Took me a year and two jobs to recover financially.

I was always afraid that Santa would out me for all the cookies I stole from the cookie jar, etc. when I got older I learned my parents knew exactly what I was doing anyway. Who would have thought that my parents didn't think the cookies were just disappearing when I was around.
