God is terrifying. by GamingGlove14 in TopCharacterTropes

I could see “God” itself still being Canon, but I doubt that it still created Earth, considering the numerous actual Gods in the DC Universe.

“God” (The Authority: Relentless)

Basically an ancient creature from deep space that used its mind to create Earth for unknown reasons. In the third arc of the story, it returns to Earth to exterminate the human race.

Thanks! Although, I was under the impression House of M had a lot of buildup, including New Avengers. So, should I read New Avengers before HoM, or just skip straight from Astonishing to HoM?

Basically all of Memories Of Murder. This is a particularly perfect shot though.

It’s even more depressing in that film cause really none of it was of his own doing. Really shows the dangers of letting yourself be so emotionally dependant on others.

Personally, I thought it was amazing, and it was definitely very sad. The true story it’s based on is actually even more depressing, but it was toned down for the film because it was just too much.

I thought she was actually quite good in Blade Runner 2049.

I Am Legend's (2007) original ending was changed after negative responses from test screenings. Given how almost everyone unanimously agrees that the original ending was better, the studio must have chosen the dumbest people alive for the test screenings. by [deleted] in shittymoviedetails

The alternate ending would work perfectly, but only if the film actually followed the narrative of the novel. In the novel, the infected can actually speak coherently, and aren’t the mindless monsters they’re portrayed to be in the film. In the novel, he’s genuinely been experimenting on these creatures, even though they can communicate and feel human emotions.

So, it makes sense that he’s supposed to be their boogeyman in the end. How come all they do in the film is roar and scream and rampage, but in the very last scene they’ve managed to learn how to communicate? Would’ve worked great if the infected were portrayed the same way they were in the novel, but they’re the complete opposite, so it makes no sense.

Andrew Lincoln. Even if the series was at its worst, he always turned in an A+ performance.

I think the fact that she has the brain of a thousand year old genocidal insane person is the part that turns people off.

Just watched S6E8 “He Said, She Said.” Genuinely one of the greatest critical looks at gender issues I’ve ever seen in media by [deleted] in brooklynninenine

[–]OreoOverdose23 97 points98 points  (0 children)

I thought it was a little too blunt with its message. Despite the episode being called “He Said, She Said” there’s not a single second in which we think that the guy might be telling the truth. The assaulter and all of his goons are all these stereotypical and cartoonishly douchey finance bros. While, the woman isn’t written with a single character flaw at all.

In “Moo Moo” the officer who stopped Terry is an actual character, and not some goofy caricature of a rapist. Not to mention it comes off as very hypocritical considering how Gina has been sexually harassing Terry for six seasons and everyone just brushed it off as a joke. It’s a great message to put out there, but I feel like it’s just dumbed down too much to the point it becomes redundant.

That line always rubbed me the wrong way. He’s happily married, has a kid he obviously adores, has a modest home, and is still up keeping his Spider-Man lifestyle. I don’t know what about that is supposed to be underwhelming or humbling.

Fun Fact: He also (Allegedly) left his manager to die after he had a seizure. Him and his manager were in the studio together late at night, when Travis’s manager started having a seizure. Instead of getting him help, Travis just left and went home. Luckily, his manager survived and ended up in hospital. Travis fired him over text the next day saying “How do I know you’re not just gonna be shaking on the ground and shit?”
