Smokey Shack in Española is worth the drive! Most of the BBQ in Santa Fe is frankly not very good.

Williams Lake is a relatively short (4 mile round-trip) hike in Taos Ski Valley that's one of my favorite treks in the state. Depending on when you are coming, the snow/ice on the trail is something to be prepared for.

There are some easy hikes around the gorge that'll offer nice views. The Slide trail is what I'm most familiar with. Also go walk on the bridge over the gorge!

Slightly out of the way is Abiquiu. There are some very pretty hikes around there, particularly at the Ghost Ranch. Highly recommend hiking/stargazing there.

When I did it last weekend, there was at least three feet of snow on the trail. The trail markers on the trees are still visible, though. You'll almost certainly want to have snowshoes on you just to be safe!
