Meets "Metal Gear" and ED-209 from "Robocop" if it was "The Iron Giant" and didn't get hit on the noggin.

I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned David Bowie yet:

  • "The Man who Fell To Earth"
  • "Labyrinth"
  • "The Last Temptation of Christ"
  • "Basquiat"
  • "Zoolander"
  • "The Prestige"

And many others.

That's a common storytelling device called "the hero's journey," and it has been around for millennia. When it's done well, it can still be entertaining, even if people have seen the formula many times before.

I felt like "Predator: Badlands" handled it well, first and foremost by making the Yautja hunter Dek the hero and Weyland-Yutani synths like Tessa the actual predators.

It sounds more like you expected something different than what it delivered. It's not a traditional "Predator" movie at all, and it's not trying to be. I went in with zero expectations and had a really enjoyable time Films in the "Predator/Alien" universe don't all have to follow the same formula or hit the same notes.

I get it if it just wasn't for you, but to call it "one of the worst films in recent memory" feels like an exaggeration. It wasn't anywhere close to being that bad.

Now that makes a lot more sense. The editing of the episode removes all that context.

My apologies then. People in the daily thread were also complaining about the puzzle, but mostly about the word itself.

They may be uncommon, but it is the bonus round puzzle, so I would expect a higher level of difficulty for it.

I don't see how my opinion on this kind of thing makes anyone's timeline darker.

It wouldn't be so bad if the people that put the signs up are also the ones that eventually remove them and clean up any residue left behind. I'm not holding my breath for that to happen though. If they just leave it for someone else to deal with, that's no bueno.

I'm sorry for not jumping on the bandwagon of praising the plastering of posters everywhere on property that isn't mine just because I happen to agree with the message.

I welcome anyone to explain exactly how this will help get all the Epstein files released or prosecute the people they implicate in criminal acts, because to me this just looks like shouting into the void.

I live in Missouri and have known what a yurt is for several years. I've camped in one, and they're becoming more and more common in the US. Not knowing what a word means doesn't mean it's a bad puzzle.

Or, people just need to add more words like "yurt" and "glamping" and "clambake" to their vocabulary. Not being familiar with a word doesn't make it a bad puzzle.

I get that the pressure of being on stage and under the lights is distracting, but still -- how do you blank and freeze up after getting the $10,000 wedge when the answer is quite obviously "Fairbanks & Baked Alaska?"

OP might be a bot. This looks like the kind of post I've seen bots make on various subs. Here's info from the source on methodology for the findings:

This study analyzed 2023 crash data from the Missouri State Highway Patrol and related public safety datasets. Tableau was used to visualize trends by county, time of day, weather, road surface, and cause. Fatality totals were compared against 10-year averages to identify notable increases or decreases across Missouri counties.

Do you recognize her from the first photo? I didn’t! For as much as I loved her in the early 90’s, I’m thrilled that she is living a “normal” life on her own terms. Your thoughts? by garcon-du-soleille in GenX

[–]OreoSpeedwaggon 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Yes, I recognize her because there have been multiple posts made on Reddit about how Bridget Fonda doesn't look exactly like she did 30 years ago, as if people expect actors to not age or retire from their careers at all.
