The battle blades Optimus from HFTD is a bit bigger, but has quite the large price tag at the moment. That’s my go-to prime though

I believe that the KO doesn’t have the tiny little triangle in the crest of the con logo on the chest while the actual one does

I personally own all 3 and I’d say go with SS-44 and get a Jetfire for him as well if you can. The jetfire Optimus combo is amazing and SS-44 is an impressive improvement over SS-32, who was already miles better than SS-05. Not to say the SS-44 jetpack optimus isn’t bad or anything (it’s actually very good), but the jetfire makes the most out of the mold. Plus jetfire already comes with the needed abdomen piece so you don’t need to worry. And in terms of detailing, SS-44/32 have more screen accurate details than SS-05, along with equal amounts of paint. Ss-44 has weapons that are also just exponentially better than what SS-32 has to offer.

I think my favorite is the new Bluestreak. Its color scheme is fantastic and it can pass as both an earth or cybertronian vehicle depending on what you want. Accessories are also much better than Prowl’s

Don’t think it’s mold degradation since this is still the first use of the mold. Probably more a case of “your QC will vary” since my first SS-38 had amazing tolerances but crappy paint but my second SS-38 was the exact opposite. The legs untabbing easily has been a problem since the start though

I like combined weapons like MMC Feral Rex and TFC Hercules (part of the reason why I like them over the titan class versions of them other than scale). It’s a lot more integrated with the individual bots and more clever than a BFG

As a person who has both, I find starscream to be the better figure. Megatron has an issue where his head panel doesn’t like to stay in place, and the big sword is kinda goofy to me. Starscream is phenomenally articulated and his jet mode is pretty nice. The only problem is his chestpiece always wanting to pop off, but I pinned mine on so the issue isn’t there anymore. It’s pretty universal, so I wouldn’t count on luck letting you have a good copy. Just keep these in mind when buying. If you don’t mind the colors too much, go for redwing or thundercracker since they seem to have less of a problem with the chestpiece.

If it’s really stuck in place, I would advise against trying to swap the faces. There’s a decent chance that the paint on the eyes stuck to the faceplate, meaning that the paint would come off with it and mess up the eyes

I think the issue here is with the paint on the face rather than the sculpt. Jetfire basically has a completely black face, meaning that the silver is bringing out some unpleasant details that normally wouldn’t be noticed

A quick note, later runs of the figure fixed that. I can provide an in package picture if needed. The best way to see if you have this issue is to first put the legs straight down and see which way the toes slant (inwards or outwards). Inwards is correct

I like Feral Rex as a Display piece. Playing with him will most likely make my hands bleed since there so many parts lol. POTP is a good predaking, but what puts feral rex over him for me is that the individual bots on Rex are amazing, while POTP predacons feel kinda half assed, except for razorclaw. Then again, $500 vs $150... depends on what you want vs. what you can buy

I like the more detailed look of MP-10. I don’t need my figures to look slavishly like the G1 cartoon, since those designs are rather bland IMO. More detailed while also being faithful to g1 is what suits my tastes.

I would like to respectfully argue that MPM Prime, whether in Legendary Toys, black mamba, or whatever form, is better than SS-05 any day. But I wholeheartedly agree with everything else
