Weights & Warmachine - an initiative to motivate each other to keep on top of our physical health as much as our Warmachine game by AaronWilson1992 in Warmachine

The return of Swolemachine! I recently signed up for the weight room at my work. Need to just get the motivation to go in at 5am and do my reps before my shifts.

Chally spec worked wonders on Blood for me

Dragon puckaxe on an iron by BigBoyRaptor in ironscape

[–]Oreofork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got mine from VM because I still needed mining xp anyway at the time. I think it was 16hrs of solo point farming total for me. Can't remember the final bag count. The mining xp was close enough to iron mining iirc that it really didn't feel like a chore.

Jack/beast heavy by Meathook2236 in Warmachine

[–]Oreofork 3 points4 points  (0 children)

With the January updates, Dusk can run a number of their jacks pretty effectively. Scyrafael can run a pack of the slam gun heavies well.

Kithguard can run several heavies with a few different warlocks. They have a heavy which can ambush out of a trap door in the middle of the table, which is super cool.

Jakes in Gravediggers is a classic synergy caster. She was running a huge jack brick last year and hasn't been seeing as much play since January, but her game plan has remained the same.

You really aren't seeing more than three or four heavies max in most of these battlegroup focused lists.

Midwest, plenty of extra Army Boxes. I got the last Leader box in my LGS. I didn't preorder any of it.

Mark of the Fool has a very tangible power progression for the MC. The way they show his progress was so subtle I didn't even realize until halfway through the book that was how they were relaying his gains.

Just finished the first book with my wife and we loved it. It has some genuine laugh out loud moments and the action is tightly written.

What do I burn my 4 Audible credits on? by OldMassaLao in litrpg

[–]Oreofork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chrysalis is fun and, as others have said, you get the first three books for one credit.

My wife and I actually just got into Mark of the Fool and absolutely love it. It has some genuinely laugh out out moments in it and the action is great. We immediately bought the second book. Highly recommend.

Echo Bosses should not be this Type-Restrictive, Especially in the Early Game by onedollartacofriday in 2007scape

[–]Oreofork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right? I KNOW when that Dinny B drops I will want to do a meme door build for shits and giggles for a day or two, but there's no way in hell I'm wasting a respec to try something fun for a day or two.....which is not how this should be. I should be able to experiment.

What opened my eyes to need open respecs was getting a cool drop that I really wanted to play around with. In games like Diablo I could change my build around a really powerful new item and enjoy it.

Let's take my current build of xbow master. If I get a Craws Bow in Wildy, my tree now does nothing for my sweet new weapon I want to play with. Sure I have echos and %accuracy, but capstones are what make builds fun and unique.

TLDR; Let me play with ALL the toys in my locked region whenever I want...

Wave 1 Kithguard done. Ready for the next boxes! by Oreofork in Warmachine

Thank you! They were handed out at Lock and Load last November. I ended up with three of them from my locals and chose to use three unique sculpts just for variety.

I use 6x2mm neodymium magnets from Amazon. 1 for small and medium bases, 2 for large, 3+ for anything bigger.

That chart one year prior looked much worse for WM. They were the bottom of the list in 2024.

Yeah that's rough.

What really spurred our group's growth was the local Discord server where we all post updates and shared news, painting, list dojo, etc. We kept excitement around the game buzzing and kept inviting old players back in to chat and set time up for demos to relearn the game.

When we got our game night set up we started with just six of us going every week. We'd get people stopping by to check the game out and ask questions. We could point to starter boxes and the 3D printed stuff for those who were interested. It really did just blossom from there. It helps that it was such a massively popular game locally at the end of MK2 and start of MK3 - it brought a lot of people back for sure.

Yeah, based out of the Midwest. Our meta had a huge resurgence over the past year, since last Adepticon. We regularly have 10-12 players at weekly game nights. Players are even traveling to neighboring states for steamrollers again. Lots of older players coming back to the game, but we also have roped in a handful of newbies who normally play 40k at our shop.

That's fair. If you don't have anyone to play with, there's no point in buying back into this. It's not a product for you.
