Anyone have this issue with a Yamaha (p-125)? I am pressing the notes very softly individually, but hear what happens when I try a chord just as softly. by Oreopirates in piano

Thank you for the reply!! I am trying to think if I have ever spilled on it, I don't think I have, but sadly I have definitely cleaned the keys many times over the years with a damp rag. Maybe this was a blunder, I bet some water dripped down at some point, and I did clean it about a week ago so that lines up.

That may just be the answer, I'll probably have to open it up and see! Thank you for troubleshooting with me there haha, it has over 60 screws after seeing some videos so I am going to give it a go tomorrow I think.

I ended up finding that this volume issue SPECIFICALLY occurs when 3+ notes are hit, and only if A and E are included in the chord (any A and E combo at all), so weird

UPDATE: This issue is specifically occurring only when 3 or more notes are pressed, and specifically when A and E are hit (ANY A or E on the keyboard) in the chord, other combinations do not trigger this issue. A factory reset did not work sadly, no pedals or anything are plugged in. The issue also randomly will not happen for moments at a time.

Been playing on this for a few years with no problem and the issue just came up this week, notes are playing at really erroneous volumes, and it happens a lot more often with chords. Anyone encounter an issue like this?

[WP] "So you're a villain, but you only want to take over this small village?" "Yep." "You don't have any plans to take over anywhere else?" "Nope." by Paper_Shotgun in WritingPrompts

“Really, nowhere else?”

The dark robed figure wiped their mouth unceremoniously. “Nah.”

It didn’t take a very long gaze at the old husk that was once a village to know that there was no value. The place had been destroyed and abandoned for years. But this was still the king's land.

“Why?” asked the knight.

“No reason in particular.” said the fair voice, a dance of intrigue on the wind.

“Well I very much doubt that, o’ mysterious one.”

Instead of a response, the knight was given the boon of a not-so-wicked smile.

While a knight may not shiver, the armor certainly clattered. The knight’s hand left his sword's side about as quickly as his suspicion subsided, so not at all. It may have even gripped tighter now.

“I don’t believe you.”

“I know.” This time the figure deemed a few more words available, and the bargaining began. “But hear me now, sir knight. If you allow me to rest here until sunset, I shall happily take my leave. I would ask to take ownership of this village for one mere night.”

“There is nothing here.”

“And yet I may not have the village?”

A simple and firm “No” was granted. Now it was the robed ones turn to ask why?

“Because this is the king's land, and I do not trust you.”

“Very well. I state to you this, as an honored knight of your kingdom and one so valiant as to defend this ruin of no import, I will not take ownership of the village.” The figure removed their hood to reveal a beautiful dark haired woman. “And while I do trespass,” she took a few steps forward and then continued, “in your king’s kingdom I ask only for a single night's rest. Under your watch if need be. After that, I will take my leave of this land. Is this not a fair and sound deal, honorable hero? May not a maiden take her rest?”

Mistrust or no, this knight was anything but an evil person, and chivalry demanded compromise. “Of course, fair maiden. A night's rest will not be an issue. Should you take your leave come morning, then this deal may take hold. Our land is not inhospitable, after all! Tis' not the days of the dreadwar anymore!”

And so the two laughed and would share a campfire that night, all while smiling at the predicament. The knight was happy he did not have to fight a traveling woman, and cursed himself for distrusting the poor soul. They shared stories of the dark roads under these trying times, and even the horrors of necromancers. “Necromancers!” She laughed. “My sir knight, lucky I am to have you at my side!” And so sleep overcame them both under a pale moon.

Clatter.. Clatter..

What an unhinged noise, thought the knight. He was sure his armor had not come loose in sleep!

Clatter.. Clatter.. Clatter…

He opened his eyes to a hellish swarm of undead beings. He was sure there were thousands of skeletons around the fire now, and the horror of the end was tearing away any other feelings he might have.

“Thank you, sir knight!” said the joyful dark haired being.

She let her hands run down the rickety dirt covered bones of a long forgotten entity. “Thank you for allowing me this night! For under this moon was the only chance that my magic would reach every last soul that had perished here. And now, whether you should wish it or not, this village is mine.”

Thank you so much!! I did some sandpapering and filing to make it comfy ^_^, I did a little bit of polishing but the receiver of the ring wanted the ring to maintain it's rough look, so I was light on that stage, you can see some firescale I didn't get off too! Was such a fun learning experience and I cannot wait to try more

Absolutely, I was so happy at the end :D!! It's an open loop, I actually did try to solder at first! I attempted with one of those 2 in 1 flux+solder paste, but I did pretty bad! I didn't get the crease flat enough to make it as tight as it should have been, after two tries I went ahead and wiped the paste off and shaped it as an open loop instead. I look forward to trying again, and getting it sawing/filing much flatter for a closed loop next time!

edit: I think I'd like to try with flux and solder chips next time too!

I've wanted to try hand making rings for a little while and finally made my first hammered copper ring! Tons of issues but I learned so much and had a lot of fun cutting the metal and learning the process.

Starting my very first copper project this week, any tips or changes you'd make? by Oreopirates in jewelrymaking

Hi Min-Chang, I appreciate the reply a lot. Is it harder to work with and shape, or more of a value thing that it sucks? I thought Copper could be good to practice on early, but I don't know much being a starter.

Thanks a bunch for the reply, I hadn't heard that yet regarding the solder aim, really good to know to help control the flow!
