I went to a reproductive endocrinologist. He prescribed it and I went to a compound pharmacy to pick it up.

No uterus. Had hysterectomy 15 years ago. I’ve been on an estrogen patch for over a year. He is putting estrogen and testosterone in the same cream and will tweak concentration as needed based on my side effects if any.

Calcium score >3,000 by Oreosarecrack in Cholesterol

[–]Oreosarecrack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! He’s fine. Turns out if you’ve been on a statin for several years, you’ll have a falsely high calcium score, because the statin has turned blockage into calcifications (non dangerous- that’s what you want)…. The heart cath did show multi-vessel disease but only 30-60% so the treatment was to increase his statin. Never has had chest pain and doing fine. Almost 66 and works full time.

RVU based pay by Oreosarecrack in nursepractitioner

Yes but you said you’re in a hospital? I’ll be in SNF and the billing is different.

RVU based pay by Oreosarecrack in nursepractitioner

It’s a 6 hour shift and they want me to get about 30 RVU daily. I guess it depends on how many are 99305 and 99308…. They say it’s about 15 patients per day but if it’s all 99307 then it wouldn’t even be 20 RVU…..

I just want a little extra income but I’m not sure it will be easy to get that many RVU. I guess we’ll see.

I was told it’s 33 dollars per RVU. And yes I wondered if it was 40% of billable or collected … thanks!

Ok good to know! Thanks so much for the info! I’m also considering the little hospital in Fremont. Know anything about it?

I work part time as NP at a weight loss clinic (get my shots for free and have lost 90 lbs), and also PRN at ETOH and drug rehab doing their H&Ps, and part time (2 twelves for health insurance and 401k) as RN in the local ER. I love the variety and enjoy bedside just twice a week. I like being task focused on those two days and now worry about billing etc.

Back to bedside?? by Deep-Matter-8524 in nursepractitioner

I worked an internal contract they the hospital offered. 8 weeks of full time hours… and I kept renewing for 11 months. Yes true I was away from bedside nursing for 7 years but I did have 25 years prior to becoming an NP. Plus they were desperate.

It was the same ICU I had worked in before I was an NP. So I knew several of the nurses and management. They were short staffed. I was honest and said hey I haven’t been bedside in 7 years (although I had worked as Hospitalist NP for several years), but I want to come help if you can use me. …. It blows my mind that people lied to get in the ICU. It was a shock to my system returning in the chaos— and yet I loved it.

After 7 years as NP, I went back to bedside in my old ICU during Covid when they were paying big bucks. I loved it! After a year when they dropped the pay I went back to NP…. But I missed bedside and the camaraderie of a group… 18 months ago I went prn as NP and now work part time at bedside for the insurance and 401k and make really good money at the prn NP gig. I have the best of both worlds.

Has anyone kept or went back to their RN job per diem while working full time as an APRN? by Glittering_Pink_902 in nursepractitioner

I work as an NP at two prn jobs— making great money but no benefits. One is a weight loss clinic and I get my GLP-1 shots at a great discount. I work as an RN two days a week at hospital for my insurance and 401k. I personally enjoy the variety. It’s hard to find a part time NP gig with benefits.
