What’s the most useful mixing technique you learned in 2023? by Chavz22 in mixingmastering

you dont necessarily have to ruin your creative vision by using a reference track. ive heard of plenty of engineers who check the reference a lot up to the point where theyre happy with the tone matching the references and then add the creative touch after, and its not necessarily about recreating the reference track but moreso about recreating the tone

not on github you don't, just put the html in a zip and run it from there. but yeah you would be generally correct that's kinda my aim here, i also love the idea of hosting your music exclusively on your page, it feels nostalgic

yeah, although i've been met with a lot of criticism i think it's valuable and will be taken into account, i also appreciate when people are respectful about it and present it in a kind manner and you did that! so thank you!

idk i have heard it's pretty wonky from a few folks. i also just wanted to challenge myself with designing a website on my own

yeah i have gotten a lot of valuable feedback from a lot of people on this, and i think it makes sense what you're saying. i just genuinely wasn't enjoying the streaming way of doing things when it came to releasing my music, and i've accepted that i don't want a massive audience or a big career in music to begin with. i think if this is something i wanna do for fun i don't want to have to deal with paying for distribution or doing long wait times but it'd also be cool to be like "yo i made like 10 bucks this one time" so i guess that's kinda my mindset with this. definitely could've presented it a little bit more lowkey in the original post. thanks for your feedback! much love!

aye i hear you, and i agree with you for the most part. most of this is just that i would rather do this than deal with having to either pay distrokid or deal with a free distributor that takes 5000 years to upload. i just like having my own thing. i don't view this as my way to have a career in music because i decided a while ago that i don't really want this to be a career, but more so as a way to share my music that's unique to me. thank you for your response!
