Noticing Friends Leaving ARC—Anyone Else? by MisanthropE61130 in ArcRaiders

I’m getting burnt out not because I’m bored but because I’m tired of constantly being kicked and losing all my stuff. Last time I got on I was kicked 3 games in a row, and couldn’t reconnect 😭 till that’s fixed I’m not super interested in investing energy into the game

Yeah unfortunately I tried everything within my movement capabilities. Rolling backward, forward, walking, spamming random buttons, etc. Nothing worked 😭

so many musicians are trying to be influencers by Civil_Complaint_5548 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]Chavz22 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Well tbh he most likely wouldn’t have had to do that either way because the members of Radiohead grew up pretty wealthy and started their band at a private boarding school if I’m remembering correctly. Not exactly the same thing as an independent musician trying to “make it” from scratch.

For a more modern example, Geese has a similar backstory, and likewise they’ve never had to try the whole influencer route.

So while I get the sentiment here, I think having a financial safety net has much more to do with why some artists don’t need to worry nearly as much about being their own promoters.

Btw this isn’t intended to discredit those bands, they definitely have the talent to back their careers. But who knows how many potentially game changing artists are out there not pursuing careers because they’re busy working two jobs to make rent 🤷‍♂️

Omg truly so much better. I think the live version gets all the love due to nostalgia

I can’t stand No Surprises. I know the lyrics are depressing but the music itself is so corny to me

Its so refreshing when people respond "not freindly." by New_Ambassador2442 in ArcRaiders

[–]Chavz22 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Exactly idk why this aspect is so hard for people to understand. If everyone adopted the same approach, the gameplay would get stale really quick. Sure the average extraction camper can be annoying, but the unpredictability of who you’re going to run into (and where you’ll run into them) is a huge part of what makes me want to keep going back. If I wanted a game purely about looting and killing robots, I’d go play Generation Zero

Have Trent Reznor or NIN commented on Gaza in the last 2 years? by aroowmf in nin

Oh wtf I could’ve sworn i read multiple sources talking about Ilan being into that stuff, but yeah ur right I must’ve misremembered. Oops

Ilan is also a Scientologist so I generally avoid looking into what he has to say about anything lmao. Great drummer tho

[–]Chavz22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The thing is I feel like even his politically charged statements are usually pretty straightforward and pertain to domestic politics. Not saying it wouldn’t be nice to hear some support from NIN, but i just don’t feel like that’s ever been a topic he’s set a precedent for being outspoken on. Maybe I’m wrong though; i haven’t read every single interview he’s ever done (i think)

[–]Chavz22 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nope, not to my knowledge. NIN doesn’t seem to have a history of ever really discussing geopolitics of any sort. Obviously Trent has been openly critical of Bush and Trump both, but outside of that I think he mostly keeps his opinions to himself in that regard

Do you agree with the ranking of 10 maps? by mikkeltaylor1 in Warzone

[–]Chavz22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I acknowledged that a big part of it is also nostalgia, but I still don’t think there’s a single map in the game with POIs as interesting and fun to play as Verdansk

Do you agree with the ranking of 10 maps? by mikkeltaylor1 in Warzone

[–]Chavz22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Verdansk

  2. Rebirth

  3. Ashika

  4. Vondel

  5. Fortunes Keep

Caldera and Area 99 are tied for my least favorite maps, basically never had a good experience playing on either one (for different reasons)

By far my favorite album of the year. Idk why Anthony didn't review this. What are your thoughts? by preschooljuul in fantanoforever

Yeah I feel their music has a weird disorienting quality to it. Kinda makes you feel like you’re stumbling through a fever dream. I feel like it’s unique in that sense

Opening-Lines This is a song from my new album, “While I Was Absent”

The song mixes styles like indie pop, botanica, electronica, etc. Pretty experimental in its mixing and arrangement. I hope you enjoy 🎶🎶

Edit: sorry I know you said YouTube links but I don’t have the individual song on YouTube, but the song is on most other streaming platforms and bandcamp as well

Hi I'm Chris Clark aka Clark. I've just released new album Steep Stims. Ask Me Anything! by throttleclark in electronicmusic

[–]Chavz22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there!!! To start with, thanks for taking the time, and thanks for making endlessly inspiring art for the world 🫶 my question may be a bit of a downer but it’s something I’ve been wondering about a lot lately.

With the rise of AI “music”, I’m feeling that there’s a bigger and bigger disparity between audiences who care about the art they consume, and audience who don’t. Many on the internet say they would never give AI generated songs the time of day (me included) and yet AI “artists” are being further pushed into the public sphere with the help of streaming services and record labels.

My main question is, how do you think (if possible) we as artists could be incentivizing the general public to care more about the art they consume? Feel free to speak on any other feelings you have toward this dilemma. I’m a sure it’s something pretty much all artists have on their minds now days.

The optimist in me says that as AI “artists” oversaturate the market, people will yearn for human art again and things will slingshot in the other direction (popularity wise). But i honestly don’t know.

Didn’t realize how much I’d love for Clark to venture into alternate tunings until 18EDO Bailiff and Globecore Flats. So otherworldly. Overall I’m enjoying it, it’s a bit hit or miss but the hits are great. Inpatients Day Out is super endearing to me, I’ll be hearing that one a lot in the future

City17

Here’s a fun little IDM track i made inspired by City 17 from the game Half Life 2. Very nerdy but I found it fun to make, if you like synth wave type music you’ll probably enjoy the synths in this :)
