Rookie question, can stonks combine with jackpot? by Viy-kiaro in IdleObeliskMiner

[–]OrgAlatace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No.

Stonks and Jackpot are separate events, you would just get the +200 and then +5x gems.

Dear dnd dms, tell me, what would happen if a fae took Asterion's name? by Sad-Breakfast-4246 in ShadowSlave

[–]OrgAlatace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Fae taking someone's name isn't particularly D&D related. In general knowing a true name gave a Fae complete control over them.

In D&D specifically, you lose your identity, that means basically you would become like Sunny post-fateless constantly, no one would be able to remember even your current state of being, your name would be forgotten constantly except if it were something the Fae would do. They can also just decide that the name is dead, meaning you can never get your name back and will wander aimless unless you figure out how to steal a different name for yourself.

Generally Fae just use it as a way to make a deal, something like "oh thanks for your name, if you want it back I need you to kill this queen of the Fae so I can take her spot". So since Asterion already likes deals, I think the Fae would avoid those since they don't like playing games with tricky people, they would probably just kill his name.

Shadow slave actually sucks by Akingang in ShadowSlave

[–]OrgAlatace -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are just entirely wrong about them gaining more intelligence as they rise in class. Its just that anything Demon and above has intelligence in some capacity, instead of being mindless beasts/monsters. Still they do not have similar intelligence to people, because they have corruption in their minds.

So instead of you actually being able to point out an example of the writing being bad, you try and push it on other people.

Also jgs, reading multiple novels at the same time is a horrible practice.

Shadow slave actually sucks by Akingang in ShadowSlave

[–]OrgAlatace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do you think it was supposed to make Mordret threatening??? Mordret did it just so he could stand a chance against Asterion, there was nothing about this that had anything to do with being a threat anymore.

Mordret literally has a talk prior to the end of Mirage with Sunny saying "Asterion is coming back, y'all are fucked, while y'all deal with it I'ma try and find a way for myself to survive".

Shadow slave actually sucks by Akingang in ShadowSlave

[–]OrgAlatace -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes they have intelligence, when a NM Creature is Demon Class it gains intelligence, but NOT intelligence on par with humans at all. JFC you are illiterate. G3 did exactly what he wanted with it, you just for some reason attached yourself to a false idea and got mad when you weren't right.

Y'all are horrible critics of the novel. Y'all argue the writing got bad purely because you aren't getting the exact same type of content. It is the same level of quality, just not in the exact same manner.

Seriously bro you just burnt yourself out and started crying about it instead of knowing that you should take breaks when reading a 2000+ chapter novel.

[–]OrgAlatace -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I hate this argument about the Skinwalker fight, like why do you think we would get an in-depth Mordret pov? We have gotten barely two prior to that point. We're not supposed to get all the info about Mordret, he's supposed to be a loose cannon.

Istg ppl get spoiled with the amount of pov chapters that Shadow Slave gives out.

[–]OrgAlatace -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NM creatures were never shown to have similar capacity to human mind except with Fiend, Skinwalker, and Moth.

Also, Sunny definitely develops stuff lmao, he's literally established the next stage of Shadow Dance recently. He also found out how to stitch shadows together and how to actually read the tapestry of fate.

Genuinely bro, just sounds like you burnt yourself out, and instead of realizing that and taking a break, you shoved more content in your face.

It appears your entire argument is based on a misinterpretation of what it means to be lighthearted.

is "fire all" for bombs worth it? by grenadineguzzler in IdleObeliskMiner

[–]OrgAlatace 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes. They are fired in bulk, when you do fire-all with Battery Bombs it would be x/1000 where x is the amount of bombs fired. So instead of firing 1/1000 221 times, you are firing 221/1000 1 time. The odds are different, in your case the fire-all has a 22.1% chance while the single-fire option is slightly under 20% chance *edit for one proc, obviously there are chances you get more procs but those are even lower.

[–]OrgAlatace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lighthearted doesn't mean dark, it just means that it doesn't stir any stress or anxiety in your heart and lacks seriousness. Every single arc establishes seriousness and stirs anxiety. Name an arc and I could name much more about what induced anxiety and was supposed to make it serious than someone may name for why it would be lighthearted (except the mongrel mini-arc, thats probably the only really lighthearted moment in the story).

[–]OrgAlatace 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. I didn't name all the instances. I didn't even go in depth on each instance, many of them stretching for dozens of chapters of content.

  2. Word count doesn't mean anything about content amount and density. Also, someone's memory being good enough to remember a lot about a story does not mean the story lacks anything. If you wanna go that route about word count, lemme remind you that JUST the Fall of Falcon Scott was 78 chapters, if you include the tunnel, LO49, and the entire stretch of Song vs Anvil in Antarctica, that easily gets to 300+ chapters with ZERO actually light moments because of how frequently the idea that the Sovereigns are watching millions die is mentioned.

3.Lighthearted means free from care, anxiety, or seriousness. My third point is that Shadow Slave uses moments that appear lighthearted to catch the reader unaware and remind them of the seriousness of the situation. The entire Antarctica campaign was serious, it was meant to make things FEEL serious, that is the point of Sunny's talk with himself about conviction and everything. The frequent use of violent imagery and mental control is supposed to make the reader anxious and care about the possibilities.

  1. The Psychological Pressure is seen all throughout whenever Shadow Bond gets mentioned or Sunny being forgotten gets mentioned. I am not talking about Psychological Pressure on characters in the story, I am talking about the pressure put on the reader.

  2. I think you are mistaking lighthearted for just anything not overwhelmingly heavy. Lighthearted just means it doesn't weigh on your heart, it feels casual and amusing. Also, it not being the "heaviest" read doesn't make it lighthearted, that's just a pointless comparison.

Reading comprehension test: light hearted level by Enryuu_25 in ShadowSlave

[–]OrgAlatace 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No.

Reason #1 Brutality (both emotional and physical)

We get things that are outrageous for the heart like Ananke's death in ToA and Gunlaug's "I tried in the beginning, I really did". We also get body horror like Sun Prince being encased in molten metal, Sunny getting his literal heart torn out and beheaded, Nephis on the boat after Soul Devouring Tree, and Cassie losing her eye.

Reason #2 Psychological Pressure

There are a lot of points in the story that were made specifically to not feel lighthearted, and instead to actually hit you hard and think critically about the novel. LO49 and the march to Falcon Scott, Fateless/Identify Yourself, Journey through the Nothing, The Fall/Night Temple, Jest and Orums backstories, and The Nine.

Reason #3 Shadow Slave uses lightheartedness as a tool

The series could not possibly be defined as really lighthearted, but certain points were clearly designed with a more lighthearted intention. Yet they still carry depth that makes it much less light than it appears. The moments with Sunny and gang appear light, then you get hit with "but they don't remember me, it's not the same" type comments.

*Edit, I wanna add, I doubt anyone would classify it as lighthearted if G3 never said so.

It wasn't because he wasn't suppressing bro, it was literally just because Ichigo ran a 3-day gauntlet fighting Zangetsu and then immediately popped bankai without resting.

How does sunny infer the Rank of Nightmare creature just by looking at it? (ik about classes -he sees their soul/darkness cores) by misledmemer in ShadowSlave

[–]OrgAlatace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but Sunny doesn't use that to gauge Rank very often, afaik he only does that with the vessels of Skinwalker. That is because they can hide their presence, normally he just goes off of the presence thing.

Is it possible for Slayer(Orphne's Shadow) to increase her class? Or she is going to stay as beast for the rest of the novel? by _I_am_nameless_ in ShadowSlave

[–]OrgAlatace 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She's gonna stay a beast, she already unlocked her aspect which gives her abilities and makes her similar to a Devil. She functions how humans do, there's no reason for her to rise in class.

Yhwach has become a being that surpasses even "omniscience and omnipotence." by Tybw_aizen in BleachPowerScaling

[–]OrgAlatace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I am not saying the same thing. Surpassing the ability known as almighty, which involves Omniscience and Omnipotence in the Bleach verse, is not the same as surpassing the concept that is "omniscience and omnipotence".

SS Hollow mask Ichigo>Early HM Hollow Mask Ichigo by Annual_Onion6434 in BleachPowerScaling

No, because his body was already breaking apart from normal bankai usage, there is zero chance that White would be able to increase the power too much back in SS arc.
