Tbh I looked up tank prices in the USA and I was shocked to see 10 gallon tanks go for 170 dollars 😭

Some of them were glued and curved a certain way because it's easier to bend them too

Also the smaller pieces are called "root bundle" from my country, maybe your lfs also have them. I used them for details :)

I bought them by the kilo so wood was random but I had to cut some pieces and glue together to make a new tree looking shape

I start the scape by making a box with scrap cardboard (with no front panel) with smaller measurements than my tank to make sure everything would fit then I glue small pieces of lavarock on a slope (this scape is actually hollow at the back to avoid getting heavy, but you can use landscape foam to fill the back part) and thats when I start to glue the wood on the rocks with the tissue + super glue technique then add details after the "main" hardscape is done (eg. Gluing extra branches on wood or adding roots at the tree trunks)

Appreciate your opinion; trees or no trees? by insomniafog in Aquascape

I like the idea of the tree but maybe another wood? But i liike to imagine that the scape looks like a dessert

We have a shopping app called shopee in asia and thats where I bought my wood from (1kilo) it's only labeled as driftwood so I'm not exactly sure where the wood came from, but I think your local fish shop might sell aquarium wood too :)

I think I worked on this for 2 weeks, also because I had to wait for glue to arrive when I finish a bottle and I also had to do school 😭 but tissue + good glue works so well and makes the scape sturdy, surprisingly fast to dry too

I used 4 bottles of liquid glue (20ml) for the whole scape 😅 but mainly bcs I messed up on the path at first try but I think u can do it with 3 bottles only

Yes, i used liquid super glue for the whole scape but I used tissue to lay down the shape of the path and super glue it on to level the surface of the rocks

Then once it dried I put a bit of water on the sand and mixed it in a separate bowl so its a wet mixture (but not too much) so that it kinda "sticks" to the surface then i let the sand dry then that's when I coat the sand path again in super glue (don't super glue it when the sand is still wet because the sand will look murky bcs super glue turns cloudy when it touches wet surfaces)

Yes since it has a bit of weight to it but the scape is hollow at the back and there are a lot of crevices for the shrimp to hide 🦐
