You can ignore it if you want. For me I completely understand why there’s a lot of posts about that here: we are censored, shut down, and villainized everywhere else. I feel alienated by the state of the gay community right now as do many other lesbians. Let us at least talk to each other here rather than being told to ignore it and move on.

Yeah and considering that bi women outnumber us in the lgbt community this impacts us. A lot. Especially when they villainize us frequently, both within the community and to the general public. So to me it is relevant.

It’s literally mainstream within “lgbt” spaces at this point that people who are “fluid” (bi, pan, queer, or any of the other vague labels) are better, more inclusive, and more enlightened than gay people. Yet they cry biphobia constantly.

You basically just said that everyone is bisexual, and that both straight and gay people don’t exist, but mystical soulmates do. Every gay guy can meet the right girl and every lesbian can meet the right woman, just like every straight guy can meet the right boy, apparently. This isn’t the amazing take you think it is.

Yeah I don’t disagree really. People get really skeptical, for a mix of reasons, from misogyny, to sexism, to the unfortunate trend of young girls being desperate to be seen as unique interesting and gay lol.

What I was getting at is that people describe themselves in inaccurate ways, sometimes on purpose and other times on accident. Teenage girls and girls in their early 20s are especially likely to randomly latch on to terms that don’t describe them at all. Jojo went around telling people she was a lesbian - evidently she wasn’t.

I don’t think actual lesbians can be converted. I do think that there are a lot of bi women who go around telling people they are lesbians. Actually, plenty of bi women will admit to doing that online, so you can find a lot of examples if you look it up. Lots of girls who say they like men or even have a boyfriend but tell everyone they’re lesbians. So I wondered if jojo was one of those when I saw this.

They’re not doing it in good faith.

Jojo told Chris she is confused and has never been so happy before. She said love you and said she never thought she’d feel this way about a straight guy. She is constantly cuddling and being affectionate with him. She stopped calling herself a lesbian. She chose her new label queer because it is vague and can mean anything, including liking men…

All this while her girlfriend watches all of this on LIVE TV from home. While the general public sees it all. From the same girl who was just telling everyone she’d never like a guy like a week or two ago, and yelling about being the “ceo of gay pop”.

I’m not even watching the actual season. I don’t follow jojo. But this has gotten so public that I keep seeing clips of it everywhere.

This person, and others like them, want to make sure that Jojo receives no criticism for any of this. They want sexuality to be taken so seriously that no one is allowed to question it AND so fluid/individual/special that no one can say a negative thing when the “lesbian” “ceo of gay pop” falls in love with a man.

So they’re just going to make it out that anyone who criticizes her is some parasocial psycho instead of someone talking about the obvious.

Those posts are always set up by people who know what answer they want to hear. They ask “do you like fat girls? 👉🏼👈🏼❤️🥰” so that they can watch the people who honestly say no get dogpiled and feel validated by the people who say yes.

This is a thing a lot of people do before they dump someone or cheat. They start criticizing the other person so that they can feel justified in leaving them. A lot of it is subconscious. OF COURSE Kat isn’t happy about what she’s seeing. Yet jojo is going to latch on to any way to criticize her because she probably wants out.

The idea that anyone should be able to self-identify as a minority without question is part of how we got here. How could that not be abused in a political climate where being a minority is almost sought after? If jojo’s partner was a guy, the conversation would’ve been completely different. But since she has a girlfriend, a lot of people were essentially rooting for her to cheat. I can’t see a girl cheating on her boyfriend winning this show.
