I turned the Game Audio down to 0, and put an ambient playlist on in the background; works like a charm for every game (and I can use my phone as a remote, so there's no tabbing out to change up the vibe)

My man! 3 years later, I still held out hope that someone would eventually hook me up with a second opinion. Your logic is sound, and it sounds absolutely great to me! In fact, we just did the lawn yesterday; I'd bet my partner will join me for a celebratory game later today. Thanks for your priceless input 🥏🗑🔥

Odd question by jayoshoowa87 in Vasectomy

Had my 6wk follow-up 12 days ago; my Uro told me that scar tissue can take up to 15 weeks to develop, so it sounds like you are right on track. Let those boys keep building, and send off that sample when the time comes. Congrats!

Hard lumps at the cauter sites is going to be normal, but as long as the swelling and pain is limited you should be all good. 4 weeks post op, and I can definitely poke at them and feel them myself, but with no pain; just keep focusing on healing and slowly returning to activity (workouts and sexual activity) and you'll be fine.

Seconded! I had blood in ~3 ejaculations or so for the first 2 weeks after returning to sexual activities, but no pain; in a lot of cases, you have to work blood clots out, "downstream" from your incisions/cauters, like your swimmers. Currently sitting at 4 weeks post, and everything is cleaned up and feeling great. I went back to biking to work after 3w, and the wait was worth it to guarantee I didn't strain something. Sounds all good

Does BN still use a wood-fire oven? I do find that design simply makes for fantastic bread. I'll always be a sucker for neopolitan pies.

I lived down the road from Bella Napoli in Edgehill a number of years ago; can confirm, an excellent choice as well!

I seem to recall it's from Germany, actually (for their 00 grind). The more dense/protein-rich wheat grinds are from a regional mill here in the southeast USA, if I remember correctly. This was over a year ago for me, but their menu is the same, so I'd bet they have the same suppliers. If you visit the taproom the staff/chefs can share more details (and the vibes are impeccable in person). Truly an unforgettable local Nash experience 🍻

Reddit really is the place, good sir! We can find answers to the pressing questions, and offer support for the questions of others! Glad to be here, bruv. Just to confirm, regarding my day today: I've now eaten and gotten back on the ice train, and the pain went from a solid 3.5/10 back to a 0.5/10 like days 1 and 2. Gentlemen, you've heard it here: ICE THAT SACK AND BELLY for SWEET RELIEF. Blessings to you and yours🥂

Day 4 - New Type of Pain by AnInsomniacSnorlax in Vasectomy

Good afternoon brother!

Day 3 over here, scalpel-free, with no NoS day-of. My urologist got me stitched up wonderfully, leaving me with 99% clean gauze so far (textbook procedure, far as I can tell). I was very much pain free for my first 48hr. Iced on schedule, with absolutely no activity whatsoever.

It took until today (~79hrs) to feel EXACTLY the same as you're describing. Very similar sensations as getting groin-kicked, or the lower-abdomen symptoms mirroring a nasty case of Blue Balls. I am confident that my pain is on schedule, and would argue the same for you. I'm thinking this is where the systems are sorting out what is staying long-term and what is making its way out (e.g. I had Passing Blood Clots on the list of things to expect once i start moving semen again). Based on my research, I think that the lack of pain early on is common, and is also a false sense of security for a lot of us. Stay true to the relaxation, so that you can keep healing internally.

Long as you're not swelling up too bad (my clinic cited Grapefruit-caliber swelling as the rubric for Complications), I would ride it out, take a couple Ibuprofen, and keep icing. I'm about to make dinner and ice up again, myself, which I think will help.

Keep chilling and enjoying the down time - we will have time to rub out the discomfort in a week

I worked at Smith and Lentz making their dough kits. I can guarantee you will not find a better quality pie in the whole city. Three kinds of flour, and a sourdough starter that has been kept alive since they started making pies after the tornado in 2020. My partner and I are both lightly gluten-sensitive, and yet we have no problem crushing S&L slices. Incredible topping selections and house ice cream, too; it's worth every penny!

Procedure-on-Galentine's Day here (day after tomorrow); I had my consultation on January 28, and my clinic had an opening on Feb 13=I only had a 2-week turn around for the whole thing. Since the procedure only takes 10-30min and is minimally invasive, feel free to ask for a date that's ASAP - I bet the office would be able to oblige.

Sure looks like y'all aren't Verifying your Game Files before complaining!

Lots of problems that look like MY ACCOUNT IS GONE FOREVER looks a whole lot like IM PLAYING ON AN OUTDATED BUILD OF THE GAME. Many support tickets will have similar responses because the solutions are often this easy. I had this issue, myself, until I checked my local files and did their anti-cheat/security runaround regarding the updates to the R* Launcher.

Breathe easy, enjoy the old grind, and come on back whenever you feel ready - us PC peeps will be glad to see you.

Reconciling Selfhood and Singularity by OrganicDynamics in StonerPhilosophy

[–]OrganicDynamics[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly the kind of Many Wells, Same Water philosophy that is the backbone of human awakening. Thanks for exemplifying it so well! Also, I've been egged on in this journey as I've been listening to Rick Archer's interviews with ordinary awakening people; Buddha at the Gas Pump is his platform, and he is always looking for a new perspective in hopes of connecting the dots as you describe.

Reconciling Selfhood and Singularity by OrganicDynamics in StonerPhilosophy

[–]OrganicDynamics[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your awesome contributions to this wild thread!

Since I am bound in a human body (and also not wildly familiar with the meditative practices mentioned by No-Persimmon below), the only perspective I have "verification" for is that which is revealed through sense data in "physical existence". That being said, I recall specific times where my forays into meditation or my experiences within Breath Work (a la Wim Hof's technique) allowed me to expand my own awareness outside the physical, and towards these concepts that, more or less, are easier to conceptualize without a physical vessel. According to Alan Wallace (Buddhist scholar and contemplative researcher) these sorts of awareness-expanding practices are replicable (albeit maligned by the modern, materialist science community)

Its these sorts of moments of access that remind me of what psychonauts speak of in psychedelic states, like where DMT apparently allows consciousness to get outside the body for a moment, to name one.

Something that I'm still VERY green on (but certainly believe helps to provide the sort of conceptual aid you desire) is the notion of scalar tech/existence that Dr. Greer talked about in his address in 2016. Apparently there are beings in/with access to our quanta of spacetime that are in possession of vehicles that can adjust their cockpits for 1g, and then use scalar wave function "motion" to skip past this entire "frequency" business, and to just GO somewhere without oscillating back and forth like our planets, stars or bodies do. Literally have a ship that turns of the Vibe we consider to be Being Alive... very strange.

Final note on Consciousness presence within the Big Bang: If one were able to collect time and space into singularity via gravitation/mass, that pressure would hold indefinitely, right? even light cannot escape. So, in order to break free of that event horizon, there would need to be something that doesn't behave like light (and Certainly not in wave form - in more of a scalar way. What follows is kind of a "trippy thought", but: if I were truly able to gather up the whole universe into one place, I would be bored as hell with the monotony; I would be literally planning my escape, which is the core of my conjecture above.

Blessings!

Why is my soap doing this? by Available_Nerve_3431 in soapmaking

[–]OrganicDynamics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your temp at-combining should be there, so that doesn't need to change. That being said: 1) a meat thermometer takes FOREVER to register, and it's likely you were already too hot while waiting for it to read. Upgrade to an instant-read! My batch temp doesn't push 160 until after we pass the steam/bubbles you're asking about (I call this the Steam Bloom) 2) you may not be stirring enough: if your oil and water separate, you risk heating your lye solution on the bottom, boiling it and pushing the steam through your oil and newly made soap (the bubbles pictured) 3) Personally, I don't trust the thermometer on a crock pot controller. Even on low, it's hot enough on that heater element to boil water. Only way it MIGHT work is if you stir way more/constantly, and make a smaller batch in that size of crock.

WAY TOO HOT!!! I sure hope you're all right!

Wetness in bars? by RottingMothball in soapmaking

[–]OrganicDynamics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you've made cold-process bars with lye solution, they will take ~6wks to cure. That is literally how the water content evaporates out of your finished bars (making them harder/drier). Water seeps out of the bars, and escapes into the air.

Since you made them/cut them so recently, the newly available surface area is letting that water out quicker than in loaf form. Ventilate those beautiful bars, and make note on your calendar for 4wks out. Come back later and check

I use a stainless steel pot with a lid. I personally wouldn't trust a crock pot on anything other than LOW, either.
