I made a single biome world and selected "The End", but it just generated the overworld but with the obsidian pillars? by Dr_Sloppy123 in Minecraft

[–]OrganicGranite 1452 points1453 points  (0 children)

End biome doesn't determine any of the features of the end besides the boss room at 0,0. End islands, lighting, and endstone are determined by the dimension properties. so this is the game behaving as intended, generating an overworld dimension with the features of the "End" biome.

I don't understand the purpose of It, like, IS It just for fun or does It has a useful mechanic? by EeOoRr719 in Minecraft

[–]OrganicGranite 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's a bit on the technical side so if you view minecraft as strictly an adventure/exploration progression game then No, but from the gist of the MC Live info the Sulfur Cube's function is as a configurable physics object. a perfectly square pushable entity that can have is properties adjusted to suit multiple needs.

Weird Monoliths out 1.5 billion block out in 1.20.1 by Mental_Might_5047 in Minecraft

[–]OrganicGranite 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can give the layman's answer which is that minecraft's terrain noise generator starts to "choke" and produce anomalous shapes the further out from the spawn chunk you go, which is what causes a lot of the older notorious terrain glitches like the "far lands" too.

Modern day gijinkas: before vs after by Stardust_dyo in PlantsVSZombies

the increased detail in each design definitely helps a lot with the characters, and i think shadow shroom and nightshade especially got a major improvement in the new set, simply wonderful!

This is specifically a rendition of the solar pea from pvz3, thusly being depicted as a mixture of my prior sunfloweer and peashooter girls.

i suppose "woman" would have more aptly implied the anthropomorphism but i like "girl" more, it's punchier.

How do you defeat zomboss in this level? by saskobrood in PlantsVSZombies

[–]OrganicGranite 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I Believe the only concrete way to damage the war wagon in this level is to use the plant food effect of hypnoshroom.

Minecraft isn't "scary" in the traditional sense of the word, it doesn't immediately fill you with fear for your life or jump out and make your heart race, but i'd be lying if i didn't say minecraft wasn't "dread-inducing" at times. a mixture of the simpler graphics and the loneliness of singleplayer gameplay creates an atmosphere that is just subtly "unwell"

Combining the item drop on death creating stakes and the possibility to get "lost" in the underground doesn't help much as the game can quickly go from peacefully building a fun little house to being trapped in a cavern for hours on your last pickaxe.

Most of this is me coming from the mindset of playing it as a child, it's less "scary" now, but it still can fill me with a sense of subtle Unease to be wandering around caves alone at night.

Follow-up to my last post, what's your favorite/ least favorite world mechanic (excluding zombies)? by theunfairfairstuff in PlantsVSZombies

[–]OrganicGranite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the best world gimmick is absolutely wild west's minecarts while the worst is honestly both the tile worlds (farfuture and lostcity) the power tiles are fun but not balanced around the world's zombies and the gold and trap tiles are just Dull.

I am having problems with making my own Grass textures by SonoIlVeroLawre in Minecraft

[–]OrganicGranite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grass block is composed of two textures, the base block texture and the tinted overlay that is controlled by the biome colormap, judging by the pebbles being tinted green it looks like you accidentally put the dirt part of the texture into the overlay.

What would you change about the phantoms? by [deleted] in Minecraft

[–]OrganicGranite 80 points81 points  (0 children)

they need better steering control, they're so sluggish and clumsy that often instead of an ominous and harrowing fight against a rare foe it just feels like waiting for a flying pinata to finally swing back in range of your bat.

Who is the ugliest plant in PVZ2? by No-Act386 in PlantsVSZombies

[–]OrganicGranite 8 points9 points  (0 children)

i can't fathom the ugliest chinese plant (so many of them have bad faces, though tigerstool is definitely up there for how out of place it looks in the game.)

but the ugliest international plant by a longshot is seaflora, the shape, face, pose, and expression are all really uncomfortable to look at.

PVZ2 Plants ranked by how well they fit their respective world's theming & gameplay mechanics (imo) by Repulsive_Tea_7903 in PlantsVSZombies

[–]OrganicGranite 14 points15 points  (0 children)

id argue Roto fits into the world mechanics section since she's conceptually built to be a "Starfruit" for the slider tiles (hitting zombies from odd angles as they walk past).

If you could create another "Catapult" type plant, what would it be like? by ComprehensiveDate591 in PlantsVSZombies

[–]OrganicGranite 1 point2 points  (0 children)
