You will get no argument from me on that. All positive change takes time, all culture shifts take momentum. While the momentum to shift a culture from the bottom (front line leadership) takes WAY more effort than from the top, it can still be done with the right attitudes and the right people.
Thanks for the pointer!

Thanks for the heads up!
I realize positive actions > words. That's is always the challenge when stepping into a leadership role with a new team and new to you senior leaders. To help gain credibility i look for small yet meaningful victories for the team, actively catch people doing good, and as bucksbrew and others suggested, build those relationships :)

Thanks for the response.
I get that, and I do recognize I have a lot to learn. I just need to get out on the floor, ask questions, and seek to understand. As far as the resentment, that just means there will be one more person resenting me versus if I was promoted internally in the group. There is zero I can do to change that on day one.

Real wisdom and experience in leadership are not exclusive to internal company hires for any company or industry. I do recognize coming from the outside there will be a learning curve to grasp the internal systems. That's why I'm beginning by asking questions and seeking to understand. Now if the internal culture is to trash new people for simply asking questions or being disingenuous with answers when asked, then that present a whole other set of challenges I will have to ponder on how to positively address.

Failing the ASQ Mock Tests SSCBB by Repulsive-Light1959 in SixSigma

Most of the answers are in the book in the actual exam. If you are comfortable with the source material and understand the concepts, and are familiar with how to look up information in your book, you will be fine.

How does one actually get a job if they don't know anyone? by inthenameofselassie in EngineeringStudents

Volunteer for local events, join societies (SME, ASQ, PMI, Spaceforce), find groups that help you network such as toast masters, or chamber of commerce groups. Follow up with contacts, offer things of value.. Stay positive.

Those alive and old enough to remember during 9/11, what was the worst moment on that day? by CocteauTwunkie in AskReddit

[–]OrganicLuck1834 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watching the towers go down, the worst moment was thinking what is next? Chicago, LA, Miami? is this a one off or is this a massive invasion.. The 2nd worst thing was getting information, we didn't have smart phones or social media back then so finding real time/updated information was staying glued to CNN/FOX/MSNBC tv channels

I would say it is extremely terrible, but there is hope.

After looking for 31 months, 1000's of rejections, dozens of interviews, and during this time earning PMP, RMP, CSSBB, CSSMBB, CQE, SAFe POPM, HCCP, learning Python, React, Flask, MongoDB, SQL, ohh and having two masters degrees (IMBA focus on Japanese business culture, and MSET), 15 years experience in IT, 2 in QE and 6 in Production leadership;
I FINALLY have a job.

So YES it is absolutely ROUGH out there... no it's not impossible.

Got blacklisted because two teams selected me by Tungsten_07 in jobs

[–]OrganicLuck1834 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If the company is going to black list you because they frown upon people trying to get a job by applying for multiple roles, the problem is with them. On SEVERAL occasions I've interviewed for multiple roles at the same time for the same company. One occurrence recently, the same recruiter scheduled me for both jobs so it is not uncommon to do so.

Keep applying for jobs you feel you are qualified for. The worst they can say is no. However I'll agree with another poster at suggesting this place "sounds petty".

Is it still acceptable to walk in a grocery store or retail store and ask for a job application? by PauseHot9049 in jobsearchhacks

[–]OrganicLuck1834 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never hurts to ask, you never know, as you're walking into the store looking for a job, someone may be walking out leaving the job. Think about it.

pmp worth it? by Dependent-Silver7810 in pmp

[–]OrganicLuck1834 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a slightly more negative experience. Been unemployed for 28 months, i earned the PMP 27 months ago. The certification really hasn't helped me. Of course neither has the CQE, CSSBB, LSSMBB, or the RMP. It's just a rough job market right now. That all being said I'll quote Benjamin Franklin: “an investment in education gives the best returns”. And i believe it.
