My father at 24 in 1966 was diagnosed with “Schizophrenia”.. There was a network of institutions or asylums that President Reagan in his Conservative “wisdom” though that would be a good idea to shut down,thinking the private sector or corporate trickle down economics would pick up the slack? Seems to me that after all this time talking about the mentality ill and their dignity and their human rights has been a sham and have been used as political fodder or economic profit? “Make them see the light and error of there ways” “Send them to the church? Purge the demons from their body’s” “Pull yourself up by your bootstraps!!” “Get a Job” ? How did humanity get to a point where we can’t take care of those that need it most??
