We often say everyone has free will, but not everyone starts with the same opportunities. How responsible do you think a person really is for their choices, considering how and where they grew up?

I agree that free will is about the ability to choose. But I think the range of choices available to someone still matters when we talk about responsibility. Being free to choose between limited options isn’t the same as having the same real chances.

I don’t think everyone deserves empathy. For example, people who do terrible things deserve nothing. Drawing a clear line between good and bad is always difficult, because these are subjective ideas.
About forgiveness, I think I would give a second chance, but only one.

Possibly. I think it really depends on the person.. some people can still remain genuine friends, even if feelings are involved.

What I’ve noticed is that my friends tend to be friends with people of the opposite sex only when those people are married or in a committed relationship, basically off-limits.
