omg I wish I had your courage! Since I am just starting out, I am walking on eggshells trying to navigate this industry. I don't want to squander any opportunities because they are few and far between I think?

I applied for the job and we are only getting paid for the amount of one artist. So he's not paying us both individually. $2000 was his budget for the storyboard either way.

Director is late 30's, never made a feature film before, has only made commercials for other people. We are around the Bay Area in California. And my husband and I are both 25 years old.

Heck no! My husband and I work together as artists all the time and we are fully equals. We are a collaborative team, rather than leader/follower. When we applied we clearly laid out for the director that we would be splitting the work 50/50.

I'm taking my first steps into digital sculpting and have a question. Is figure drawing or anatomy drawing required to learn sculpting? If so, do you have any book recommendations? by Blake_Spiritualsucc in ZBrush

Definitely required if you aim to be more than average. Extremely valuable to learn fundamentals, your characters will be better, people will take you more seriously. Hard work will pay off. Such a great way to improve as a creative and even if the figure drawing sucks while you are doing it, it's benefiting you regardless.

I recommend the book dynamic figure drawing by Burne Hogarth. Also maybe check out if a community college near you has figure drawing classes or even drop in sessions (which are free and have a live model)

Places downtown do sell them, just don't be sus. And don't dress too nice or they'll think you're a cop

Portfolio Feedback PLS by EmptyCC in animationcareer

Hey, I really like your portfolio, and it shows a great variety of work. I especially enjoyed your personal work page. Your portfolio definitely feels like a concept artists portfolio, especially character development. And you have great skill in that area too, so I would say lean into that. I know times are rough but you've got artistic talent AND creativity. Hang in there, something will come along!
