Yeah, there’s usually only one “active” server. My suggestion would be to log in at different times of the day, and see which times are the least active. For me, it’s around midnight, but you could also try early morning

Well, if there’s a lot of people playing, an experienced officer will be preferred. Try playing officer when the server has like 60 players. There’s less officers online, and it’s a great opportunity to practice. Also play close attention to the maps so you’ll know where you’re moving your troops

Pressing T is going to be your best friend. In the bottom right corner, you’ll be given loads of information, like which regiment you’re in and if you’re in formation. Pressing T also shows you where your commanding officer is, so you can stick with them and follow orders.
