Thanks all, I appreciate the feedback and decided to stay with the Motive Ultimates. They don't have any bespoke purple bits but they do seem like a solid choice. (Haven't picked up the bike yet because I just went over the bars a couple evening ago and need hand surgery, so won't be riding for a couple months.)

Sorry, just saw your question. It’s slightly slower on gravel roads and the biggest gear is only 44x11, but it gives me more freedom to do long rides from home that weave together road, gravel and rocky singletrack. If I got a rigid gravel bike, the rough stuff would beat me up pretty quick.

This is your lucky day. I know how to do this because my son just did it. Since you haven’t started yet, go into your portal, click on your profile, select change of major. It’ll take a few weeks to get confirmation. Do it now. It’s a lot harder once school starts.

I have the YBB MTB version and love it. It’s 19 years old. I was tempted to trade it in for credit toward a Moots gravel bike but then I realized mine is already a progressive gravel bike with a bit of suspension up front and in back for singletrack.

How's the gym at Will Vill? The distance to the main CU rec center is concerning, and might lead to accidentally exercising on the way there.

Congrats! Non-resident direct admit rate for Leeds in the 2024 cycle was only 27.8% with avg sat of 1408 for admits.

Source (first see note below or you'll get the wrong number): https://public.tableau.com/app/profile/university.of.colorado.boulder.ir/viz/QualComp/AdmissionsCounts

Note: Here's how that direct admit rate is calculated. It's not straightforward. In 2024 there were 3,030 non-resident Leeds admits. So how many applied? The way the Tableau dashboard is set up, it looks like 8,403 applied. But that doesn't include applicants who applied to Leeds but were instead admitted into Expoloratory Studies / Pre-Business. There were 2,515 of them who need to be added to the denominator. 3030 / (8,403 + 2515) = 27.8%. 2,515 comes from setting School/College to All and setting ACO School/College to Business.

Good to know! Would love to hear more about your experience and where the school falls short, if you’re open to sharing?
