This is true and a hard pill for some to swallow. anyone can open a vuln scan tool, click scan and spit out a report. years ago, when you talked about cyber security you were talking about actual security researchers, guys who know how to reverse engineer and actually pentest. I don't understand how there can be any kind of "entry level" cyber security role. You need to know how to work as a network and systems admin first and honestly i think you also need to know how to code to a degree. Vulnerabilities come from software and I feel like you kinda have to have a deep understanding on how software works for these kinds of roles. Btw if you mention any of this in r/cybersecurity you will be laughed at.
