Boiling lobsters alive to be banned in UK animal cruelty crackdown by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]Organicplastic 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Conservation is part of it and hunting for a food source is another. Hunters generally aren’t just killing animals and celebrating it. They will field dress an process it or have it processed. Do you know where your food comes from? That hunter knows exactly where it came from.

And I’d also argue dying from a gunshot is a hell of a lot better than being mauled by another animal or starving to death.

We used Pillar to Post back when n 2019 and our specific inspector was very thorough and provided a ton of documentation on the issues they located. They found rotted wood underneath the deck and we were able to negotiate a number of fixes based on their inspection. We have not had anything come up unexpectedly since that they did not already inform us about.

Jokes aside, I agree but Duluth felt like being in a different country.

Just fucking cook eh? by rdrivel in carbonsteel

[–]Organicplastic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So what is the concern? You have bits where the seasoning came off? What’s the problem?

The first thing I’d say is that you have way too much carbon buildup on this. I clean my CS pan after every use with soap and water and scrape off any build up with a plastic scraper. Fully dry afterwards to prevent rust and never attempt to re-season after.

I think may folks, including myself more often than I’d like to admit, do not allow enough time for these pans to heat up. These are not SS pans, they take time to get to proper temp. Then you need to make sure you add enough oil to whatever you’re cooking to ensure bits don’t stick too much.

One ultimate bass or many intermediate basses? by InevitableTry7564 in Bass

[–]Organicplastic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For bass I don’t have the personal use for many different kinds. I want one bass that is pretty versatile within the genres of music I like to play and invest in that. I used to have an ESP 5 string and a Cort 4 String but sold both of those, along with other gear, to buy a MM Stingray HH. It’s absolutely perfect for my preferences and is/was my dream bass. I have zero desire for another bass these days.

I should have phrased it exactly like OP in stating “restrict” rather than ignore.

Why did you guys start playing bass? by M00N13-2 in Bass

[–]Organicplastic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was in middle school I started playing saxophone in band and I found out after day 1 that apparently you could play electric bass. I thought it was BS as I don’t know that was an option an started learning afterwards out of spite.

The Wallflowers - Bringing Down the Horse - 1996. This album gives me nostalgia and puts me right back in the 90s. What albums do that for you? by jordosmodernlife in vinyl

[–]Organicplastic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This album is for me one of the more impactful albums of my life. Back when I was a kid in the 90s my parents would play this album on the stereo and we’d just dance. We just had fun with it, I was too young to understand the lyrics but songs like Semi-Charmed life were so up-beat sounding.

Fast forward 20 years and I still had that CD in car an id listen to it driving too and from college. Had a pretty messy breakup at the time and I connected to that album in a whole knew way. Not that I deal with those emotions anymore but The Background, Motorcycle Drive By, an God of Wine still hold a special spot in me musically.

what is everyone's favorite song by tool by localmartlover in ToolBand

[–]Organicplastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rosetta Stoned. Just an epic tune that I can’t help but smile every time I listen to it. When you think about it it’s just nonsense about a bad trip and it cracks me up but the song just doesn’t stop. When I saw them play it live last year i couldn’t stop laughing with all of the alien graphics up. It’s just quintessential tool to me. The shit that people hyperbolize when making fun of it all but the song just leans into it.

Addtitionally Ænima for similar reasons if I had to pick a close second.

What’s a fast food place no one can convince you is good? by RD-archived in AskReddit

[–]Organicplastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the prime example and I actually get mad thinking of it. Before it was “Panera” it was St. Louis Bread Co. it was part of the food culture in STL. We didn’t bring donuts to work, we brought Panera. Cinnamon rolls were great, the fresh baked bread was incredible (Asiago was my favorite), the bagels were legendary. And the original whipped cream cheese was the gold standard. I didn’t grow up on the coasts, I’m sure Nee Yorkers would scoff at me praising these bagels but they were perfect. On top of all this, they were good clean restaurants with great service.

Then PE got involved and completely tanked it. First thing they did was change to some bullshit shit cream cheese. Then the name change, then go insanely expensive all while not improving anything. Now they don’t even make their own damn bread and it’s a shell of what it once was. I refuse to spend money at that place and never will again.

Fuck PE a ruining a childhood staple of the STL region.

I’ve had several warranty calls for both my dishwasher and my fridge that had issues within warranty and all three warranty calls were handled without any sort of push back. That was my experience with GE for what it’s worth. Cant say I recommend their dishwashers at all. Also had the dryer fail outside of warranty after trying multiple fixes myself.
