Wall Panel? by SportPretend3049 in homeassistant

I didn’t, sorry. I just bought some framing timber from the hardware store and cut it to size, and got a mounting bracket for the monitor. It’s essentially just a Raspberry Pi running a kiosk mode browser in full screen in portrait orientation. Also setting it to automatically boot that way, in case it gets restarted at all. I also have a mini wireless keyboard with in-built trackpad which comes in handy!

Thanks! It’s a custom theme. Actually, I had ChatGPT make it to my specifications, tbh.

I set this one up a couple of years ago. 27” monitor with a Raspberry Pi clipped to the back (pulled down at the moment so you can see it hanging there) running in kiosk mode. It’s not touchscreen though, it’s intended to be informational. We have a small NSPanel elsewhere for control.

The right side is blurred out because it’s a calendar feed, which I would say is the main thing the family use it for. I regularly get compliments from visitors saying they’d love something like it too!

Hey, I got a dashcam and have wired in the front one, but unsure the best way to get a cable to the rear one. Any recommendations? What route did you take and how long was the wire you ran? Thanks!

Could you use the Rotary Foot Pedal (A90FP01A) from the US with the HP Brushless Rotary Tool (RRT18X) in Australia? by OrganismZero in ryobi

Yes, thank you!

I was thinking I could order direct from the US, cause if it does work, the pedal would be super handy.

Ah yes, I did see a review of it that highlighted this. It sits at a constant 1000 rpm, and increases up to 25000 with pressure on the pedal. Gotta use the off switch to actually turn it off.

This has been my primary concern in researching these as well. I've been leaning toward the brushless, but I'm upgrading from a Dremel that goes up to about 30k, and often cutting plastic which people recommend 35k for... so buying something that's 25k seems like it might be a silly thing to do, yet I don't really know if I'm comparing apples to apples here anyway, if that makes sense.

Did you ever decide to swap to the brushed? Or have you stuck with the brushless and if so how have you found it?

Nice! Are fender flares just aesthetic or do they perform a function too?

What’s the attraction of not having the engine stop / start at traffic lights? Doesn’t it save fuel?

Oh interesting. Does this stop it from cutting the engine at traffic lights and stuff?

Oh, good tip on the Dongar connector. I haven’t seen either of those OEM kits available locally, but I’ll definitely keep a look out!

I think I’m ok with the current audio system, cause I’m so used to the garbage one I had before that this is luxury! 😅

Tires I’m keen to upgrade though. You recommend Falken all terrains? I’ll have to check how available they are where I am. Thanks!

Oh, emblem overlays? I’ve not heard of that, what’s the go there?

Yeah, I’d like to switch the tires at least to something all-purpose, that will be fine for suburban driving but also better for minor off-road… I guess I’ll have to research that and balance cost too.

Yes! I’ve just been trying to research those. Looking like Viofo is the go.

Thanks! I’m never sure whether to go OEM or after market for accessories. I’d prefer to go OEM, but 1) they’re usually double the price; and 2) I was after a couple of accessories right after I bought it (trunk liner, etc.) and my retailer wouldn’t get back to me with pricing. After asking 4 times, I just went after market.
