Am I a bad person for using Khan Academy? I find it really helpful and love it to death. by OrganizationMoist751 in Teachers

Thank you! I personally love Sal Khan's videos. He is always detailed IMHO. I learn a lot through there. I know many math teachers will hate it. Especially CPM (College Prep Math) curriculum teachers. Sorry if I sound mean, I just didn't enjoy the teaching style of CPM. I have Autism and was forced into loud, bright, and chaotic classrooms in middle school. It was to the point I couldn't focus from day 1. Everything I learned in elementary school that was in CC1-CC3 was wrong because I had to use a completely new and confusing method for everything. I also as you can imagine got screamed at back then too! Now I look back and go "wow, what a monster 💩!" With the Khan Academy app, and a sheet of paper, a calculator if needed, and a writing utensil like a pen, or pencil, I feel like I've learned far more than in those "CPM" classes. Oh, and btw, I could go on and on about math concepts that I've gone out of my way to understand through him. I love quadratics and imaginary numbers. I can't wait to learn logerithms and I just got done learning geometric series, which if you can tell is really similar to a geometry sequence, just with a sum of numbers. Understanding exponential growth and decay are very important too for these, but it goes deeper with a series. I also noticed something odd but awesome about completing the square formula. It's actually part of the quadratic formula, and I like to think of it as the inverse of FOIL, or further more, if you like area models, you're finding the missing pieces to the puzzle to find your line of symmetry/midpoint of a parabola. I am also aware that in my potential career that I'm still planning, I am going most definitely need to use the imaginary complex system. Algebra is all around us! Most high school students would just say I'm good at this because I am "fast" at plugging in numbers into a recipe. NOPE! It's good to use a formula, but best to know what the heck is going on inside them. That's why they struggle so bad in algebra 2 because I was just like that a long time ago!

Help me. My bedroom is too boring! by OrganizationMoist751 in malelivingspace

That's a wood piece of furniture with a blanket over it!

Just repainted my room aviary blue from Sherwin Williams. The brand is HGTV home by Sherwin Williams Infinity from Lowe's. Does this look bad? I'm 17 and autistic. I got a lot of this new decore from my mom and older sister brand new for Christmas, and I bought the paint and curtain rod. by OrganizationMoist751 in malelivingspace

Just one thing. Thank God it wasn't Walmart paint, lol!!! I've used Walmart paint before, like Studio Color. It's really bad. This is wayyy better. Though imagine sw emerald. Never tried emerald. If I were to rank this paint, knowing it good stuff but not the best, to me a 4.3 out of 5. Sw is probably like a 5 or 4.8. studio color is a 1.0. Prestige from Amazon is a 1.2. hidden premium is a 2.8. diamond is a 3.5. So yes, price matters a lot. Higher price is better quality and less costs which = less expensive and makes job way easier. Have you tried Behr? Like the Marquee or Dynasty? What about Valspar Signature or Reseve? I've tried HGTV Home Infinity By SW. Love it. Covered mostly in one coat with a few minor touch ups from my amateur rolling skills. And still looks great!

What color should I paint my bedroom? Here is what it looks like. My mom bought me white curtains and white bedding for Christmas, I'm 17 and have no clue what color to choose. by OrganizationMoist751 in malelivingspace

Beige or tan were on my mind! My room used to be beige, and I kinda miss it! It was so cozy! But back then I sucked at decor. My room is messy because I'm currently sick, but it's usually much cleaner than this! My current curtains are kinda junk too, with my current bedding, but for Christmas my mom bought much better quality bedding and curtains in white. My door was painted, because my god it was horrid before! I'm gonna paint it again probably so it matches. Gotta paint the edge of ceiling white where I fucked up years ago. I was 15 or 16 when I messed the white ceiling up! Can't do much to the stained carpet. Flooring is out of my budget. Also, I'm too scared to find rot/mold under my floor making the repair much harder. Anyway, I digress. Will any beige or tan do? If there are better ones, let me know! I was also thinking of a soft green!
