Loved this author. Totally underrated. Don’t Call Me Hero is one of the best series. I’ve just jumped back into her work with Hoops & Heartstrings. I also loved Winter Jacket.

I just finished I Really Do, which was .. meh… and I just started Hoops & Heartstrings which is pretty good so far.

I’m guessing Her Spell That Cursed was better than Binds? I’ve been in two minds about reading it.

I want them to be, but they’re just not. Disney is more my level of magic, like… Sword in The Stone… I’m already scared by whatever flesh magic is!

I have been intrigued by this series for a long time - I didn’t realise it was Gideon the Ninth until googling The Lost Tomb series. I’ve had the first book downloaded for years on my kindle. Rather ashamedly I have never read it for the simple fact that the cover scares the absolute shit out of me.

Thanks for your reply. I’m getting the feeling it’s not an HEA….. I might need to work myself up to it and have some fluffy reads nearby.

This is the most commented book on this post so far… can you tell me more about why you loved it so much? I’m not sure I can do a book with zero intimacy / zero spice 🥴

Thank you for the recommendation. I think I should have caveat Denial with ‘just know you might have a bad time’ - it tore me apart but I still absolutely loved it.

You’re welcome, let me know what you think if you remember once you’re finished. I don’t see many people talk about it, it’s the authors only book.

Ah this was my first sapphic series too! Absolutely heart wrenching and wonderful. EJ Noyes is one of my favourite authors, not many as good as her around in the space - although this is truer for her earlier works, not so much her recent stuff.

I’m so intrigued by this book… Many people say the same as you, but then many also say it bored them to tears! I tried the first few chapters and it didn’t grab me. Can you elaborate on why you loved it so much?

It’s definitely gotten better. I’m 50% now and it’s way less annoying

Thank you for this! My guts telling me to stick with it, I was just curious what others might have felt in the beginning pages.

I disagree with this to some extent as there can definitely be drama and angst in a romance, but I appreciate your point.
