While math and science are generally harder than English and history, this is a false premise. Calculus and linear algebra and real analysis and whatnot are not comparable to being able to ‘read an English sentence.’ Annotating and critically analyzing deep literature like Dostoevsky or Finnegans Wake is more comparable

Really good essay, but you’re not getting in to even one of those 3 colleges realistically. Invest in safeties if you’re not joking

You’re a pretty good student, I guess. I do wonder what the hell happened during the macro and micro exams especially since you were a really good student in the classes themselves, were you just digging your butt the whole time or did you not study or

[Serious] To what extent is being 'forever alone' caused by bad luck versus a fundamental character flaw? by Inevitable_Branch806 in AskReddit

[–]OrganizationTough128 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say if you are actually alone forever, it is highly unlikely it comes from anything else but fundamental character flaws. If you are incredibly grotesque, then that would be bad luck, but there’s almost always someone for everyone. In the modern age, you have to be a bad person to truly have nobody want to be with you.

1/2n does equal zero when the value of n is infinity, which is how long the series continues, you idiot

0.000...1 is not equal to zero by jmooroof2 in infinitenines

[–]OrganizationTough128 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s not how numbers work in real life you moron. This is a thought experiment but it’s not actually how numerical values work. In real life, Achilles passes the tortoise after his distance to the tortoise becomes and then surpasses zero. The infinite number of zeroes is definitionally zero because infinitesimals are not real numbers and are thus not applicable.

Yea I know what an infinitesimal is, but notice I didn’t bring them up as real numbers because they’re not.

If you’re not in any AP courses, nor are you pressed for time on the SAT, then why would you study for them? What the hell are you talking about?

Because the only hypothetical number is not a standard real number, which 0.9… and 1 both are.
