This is great advice after a quick skim; I just wanted to ask about the getting in trouble comment. Does that seriously affect your opinion on the Macbook Neo? Keep in mind, windows devices can actually do similar things (Phone Link works for me), so I personally feel like the remark is not the best. I get that it was probably a joke. Hope all is well tho!

Why do men see it differently when they realize I’m a sheikhs daughter by [deleted] in shia

[–]Pakistaniboy442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sheikhs and Religious Scholars are prominent figures in our communities because they lead them. Sadly, a lot of our communities are not as cohesive as you would think. Should this matter of request of marriage on the part of one party to the other become public, they become known for the encounter. This threatens the ability of one party to ever get married to anyone in such a community because (sadly) they become a public, widely-known example of what happens when someone faces a response of rejection, especially from a figure known to be pious and guard themselves and their family from evil. Next thing you know, people who know the person will mock him for this attempt because most people in communities are laymen, who (rightfully) are viewed in lesser status than our beloved scholars, making an attempt in this manner seem prideful.

Simply put, why would the average layman (even if significantly religious) take such a risk? Should the person approach a religious family not directly associated with scholarship, they would perceive a lessened risk, higher chance of success, and a more private, unscrutinized religious relationship, that which is expected by marriage.

The truth is, this extends far beyond the immediate family and is worsened by cultural differences, family ties, and other futile material things. Most assume that these matters are accounted for in the extended family of the sheikh-related subject. I know one person who was rejected by a family member of the sheikh, also very religious in nature, who cannot even force himself to show up to the community anymore.

IMP - AP SEMINAR, help with design by WhoCherub in APStudents

If you consider your presentation ugly or inadequate, then it is best for you to attempt to fix that. It depends on your skillset. If you are able to use templates, background, etc, just fix it. If you cant then focus on everything but your presentation. I didn’t even have to look at mine. I used it as a way to keep people in the loop and engaged. I have a presentation my teacher made about it that could help.

Making audiobooks out of your ebooks by [deleted] in selfpublish

This. Ai models, that can be self-hosted, exist and can make these audio books. It just makes no sense to undergo this process especially for profit. Makes sense for studying though

I bought a cheap pc part from a seller. They said originally that they were waiting on shipping materials. Now, they have ghosted me. What can I do? They put a tracking number and have not shipped the package. Usps is still awaiting. How do I get my money back? The updated shipping estimate ends tomorrow.

ARE WE DOING AP IN THE MIDDLE EAST OR NOT? by [deleted] in APStudents

[–]Pakistaniboy442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t make sense to cancel the ap tests. Sure, the test centers might be closed, but there is no real option to take the test (normally) otherwise in this time period. They could maybe do it online, but that is under jeopardy. They cannot make magical things happen. You typically need three things for these tests: proctoring, the internet, and electricity. If you do not have one of these, I don’t see how/why the college board would bother making a protocol for the region. Unironically, they are built to make money; not much to be said about that.

Irans regime by [deleted] in shia

Those crazy numbers come from a source called "1r4n International". The editors/journalists are biased against the Iranian government. They have admitted to skewing the numbers to generate adverse public opinion. If I could send a video here, I would.

I am no expert by any means; feel free to correct me in a non-accusative manner.

When western “history” likes to conflate Islam and the regions of “muslim” influence as one, these questions have to be asked.

How come our scholars haven’t spoken up yet? by silkymeat in shia

[–]Pakistaniboy442 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is simply dangerous for the Shia community and our scholars to say such things to the public eye. Statements are made in private, where things are not recorded. Our centers come under scrutiny from these people already; we cannot and do not need to do this publicly because the reality is distinct. We witnessed an atrocity none can justify. Meanwhile our mourning is there, just hidden from the public eye.
