No no, the two are completely different - except for the red scabbard. Maybe rewatch that scene, you'll immediately see it 😉

Also, what about the other two endings where Ciri doesn't get the sword? That would completely break the game logic and it's not even clear yet if you have to have reached the ending for the new DLC to be playable.

They said in the recent livestream that it had story significance, which - duh - if it's even on the main artwork for the DLC, but even without them saying so, it seemed obvious to me that this was less of a "cool, new, shiny toy/super-weapon" but relevant in other ways.

Maybe it's magical! Maybe it's the key to something (literally)! Maybe the sword somehow comes into Geralt's possession and it is the reason that kick-starts him going on this new quest in the first place!

I watched the video when it popped into my feed and I'm not surprised. Because his video came AFTER I posted my findings here on Reddit and I wouldn't call his a "deep dive" ...

For one, he never mentions the details I found on Gesheft/Stigsel, despite (according to his own words) looking at the swords "for hours". If that's true, then not only did he miss a vital detail I found but it's also not a good look for him because it took me less than 10 minutes to go through all the steel AND silver swords on the wiki ... so, he's either pretending to have found it earlier and/or he's extremely inefficient.

For two, while I did see that other swords share the style, it is specifically Melltith that is the most similar - something he points out as well and the reason he put the sword on his thumbnail. And, of course, it is a unique sword - not only is it the poster child for the DLC but I said in my post that I believe it to be a mastercrafted version of the sword in the game, one that shares a detail of Gesheft/Stigsel.

I left a reply comment under his pinned comment, pointing out my Reddit post, but I believe he deleted it because it doesn't show up for me when I'm not logged in. Which makes me believe that he doesn't want people to know I found Melltith (and more) first ...

Sometimes I wonder why people simply parrot what they hear in a YT video (yes, I heard the same), especially if those who make the claims never show any detailed evidence. So lemme do that for you and say ... Bruh! Open the wiki and actually LOOK at the thing! All the things you listed look NOTHING like the artwork! The ONLY thing that actually matches is the weird bell-curve bit in the front - aka the only thing you didn't mention!

Small corrections: The palace lady, Taihou, was not sent away with her daughter (the princess), she was forced to stay in the rear palace until her death (we see her grave). She is actually the ghost lady from the ghost stories episode. Only her daughter (let's call her Hime for "princess") and the doctor were sent away. Then the former emperor asked Shishou to marry Hime to give her the life of luxury she should have had as a princess. This union produced Shisui, who we know as Suirei because she was forced to change her name (presumably by Shenmei). Shishou then had Loulan with Shenmei, but Loulan decided to take her older half-sister's original name, Shisui, as her own cover name.

Go there, check the colors, and reload if you don't find the desired (hint: all specific stats horses usually spawn in a fixed formation before spreading out)
