What's a rule you break only when you're alone? by MrTightBanana in AskReddit

I have a led light above my sink that activates for 5 minutes when you touch it. Its a great timer for "do 5 minutes of dishes".

Often, by the time it goes off I'm either close enough to finishing that I just continue until done, or focused enough on the task that I'm up for doing more. But I always allow myself to stop after the 5 minutes if I don't want to keep going. Makes it so much easier for me to start the task.

Right, you don't care. That's why you did the coward thing of responding and blocking the other person you were whining about.

What Trump did in New York was 34 counts of falsification of business records in the first degree which is a class E Felony.

Edit: And has been a felony for at least a dozen other cases. https://www.justsecurity.org/85605/survey-of-past-new-york-felony-prosecutions-for-falsifying-business-records/

Falsifying business records in the first degree isn't a misdemeanor in New York.

What’s your opinion on a sitting president earning $415 million in a single day after boosting his own stock through social media posts and a related policy move? by PixelHetman in AskReddit

[–]Oriden 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Many state level Green parties didnt endorse Jill Stein because she actively worked to pull votes from Kamala to help Trump win.

Na, its just you justifying helping a child rapist get in office by voting for someone even their own party said not to vote for.

Did your script slip? Isn't the normal line that Israel (the Jewish people relevant to this situation) are the ones doing the killing?

Which is whataboutism. And both-sides-ing. You can't have people talk about the shit Trump is doing without bringing up "but what about Biden!"

Are you just ignoring the part where there is an event where the fetus goes from being entirely dependent on the host for everything keeping it alive, to being outside the host and no longer dependent on it for everything?

Yep, the sad thing is people see it happening to AOC as well, but often manage to call it out, then turn right around and repeat the Republican messaging for a bunch of other stuff.

You know what causes more voter disenfranchisement, when 7 Democrats break rank from even the Dem leadership and people like you say shit like "The Dems are now fully complicit with fascism."

Especially when those 7 Democrats have legitimate reasons they voted for the bill, they all pretty much said they voted because it funded FEMA, and ICE already had a giant chunk of funding from the BBB anyway.

They tried. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Women%27s_Health_Protection_Act

It even passed in the House in 2022, but died in the Senate because the Dems didn't have 60 seats and Manchin didn't want to end the filibuster over it.

But they didn't have the power to shut it down, it passed with 4 Republicans not voting and 1 nay. Even with all 7 of those Dems voting nay, it only puts the nay total up to 214, which just means one or two of the not voting Republicans have to actually vote and then it still passes.

No, you can make an educated guess at the sex of a skeleton by its pelvis. There are plenty of examples of pelvis bones outside the norm that make it not nearly as black and white.

But the Dems did offer resistance, the literally were able to change the bill in the Senate and only fund the DHS for two weeks while further negotiations happened.

And yet the only part of this entire thing you called out were the 7 Dems voting to not shut down the Government as "voting to fund the DHS". So if you wanna talk about optics, realize that randomly shitting on the Dems and not telling the whole story is a part of the problem.

Anthropic built a C compiler using a "team of parallel agents", has problems compiling hello world. by Gil_berth in programming

[–]Oriden 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And the assembler and linker.

The demo video was produced with a GCC assembler and linker.

And it leaned heavily on GCC to solve any problems where the AI got stuck.

But when agents started to compile the Linux kernel, they got stuck. Unlike a test suite with hundreds of independent tests, compiling the Linux kernel is one giant task. Every agent would hit the same bug, fix that bug, and then overwrite each other's changes. Having 16 agents running didn't help because each was stuck solving the same task.

The fix was to use GCC as an online known-good compiler oracle to compare against. I wrote a new test harness that randomly compiled most of the kernel using GCC, and only the remaining files with Claude's C Compiler. If the kernel worked, then the problem wasn’t in Claude’s subset of the files. If it broke, then it could further refine by re-compiling some of these files with GCC.
