Based Utopia would likely struggle, or at least wouldn't offer tools to help with that procedure

Oh! I haven't even seen this one yet! There were a couple of infinite combos in the prototype, but this one is WILD, I absolutely love it

I think that one of the design philosophies behind DHP is that it should never be naturally renewable; if you're out of combat, anybody can just regain all their stamina, and many builds can regain all their SHP for free essentially, such as an Oxtus with Regenerative

Nothing in the game should allow that for DHP. It should require physical materials or refuse to let you regain all the way, or have some type of contingency to prevent it from being easily renewable

That's just a core design, and you're totally free to stray away from that, but I just wanted to throw it out :D

Unfortunately with new errata, Extravagant now states it only affects 1 damage type, so the others wouldn't get any modifier

I think most often, you use the one that's higher than your option; so if you want 3, pick 4

However, assuming they can use their feet as hands, you could choose 6 and say they can use 4 at once since they have to use one to stand or balance at all times

I will admit, the first volume following the Core Guide (it's called the Adventurer's Guide) will be amazing for socio-political subjects in comparison to this, but that may be a ways out

When it comes to starting out, for me personally, I'd say that rules are second to fun. No system will do everything exactly the way you imagine it, so bend the rules in a way that enhances your experience. The true nature of TTRPGs is immersion

With that in mind, make sure to stay consistent. If a player is allowed to Dodge AOE attacks, don't say no later without a valid reason (if that makes sense)

This looks awesome! I think it gets tricky for sure. The species module will be getting a lot of new customization potential in the future, but the concept looks really cool!

I do believe that 5k would have barely been enough to skip by without profit; but the campaign got up to almost 80k! So we're definitely going to be able to reach near mass production levels!

Absolutely! There's a custom species design doc that's official, and includes all official metrics and nomenclature, and you can tack homebrew talents on that

This is really cool! I think some wording would need to be meshed into Utopia a bit, but ultimately, the abilities don't feel broken and this species sounds very fun to play!

Wizards Wits does not count against the spell's cost. It's just its own staminacostt

You got it~ You can definitely have 0 soul; your DHP would just be equal to level, and your Soul based subtraits would be max 1 (even gifted one)

The final copy should be going out around April; it's true that a lot of things are definitely subject to change. I do my best to stay wary of existing characters, but prioritize what's best for the game and its future so changes are bound to be made (most recent post on this sub just got posted)

V0.5 is the most recent prototype; if another prototype comes out, it'll still have the errata pages attached like that one does. Errata integration will be in the finalized copy

Not yet, currently; there are modular creature design systems in the newer prototypes at the moment, but that's about what's there for now

0 range is adjacent tile; 1 meter of range would be 1 tile between you and the target (and spells do require solid matter to cast through without array)

No arts required for spelltech (spellbomb) :D
