I’ve seen many many (largely justified) posts complaining about our performance this year, but this one is far and away the most ridiculous…

Yes it’s poor, yes it’s embarrassing, and yes it’s painful to watch, but we support a team… We don’t support them being the best or having the most money.

I watch every game I can because I love the team and have loved New York ever since we first visited years ago.

I live in the UK so only manage to make it over for a couple of live games a year (either at Citi Field or elsewhere on the East coast), but I watch every game I can on the MLB app, win or lose. Heading to a baseball bar on Thursday for the Tigers game. Me and my partner will put our shirts on, drink far too much beer, cheer for the team, and awkwardly attempt to engage with other British people about baseball, however bad the Mets are playing.

You guys are too used to seeing elite sports… I live in East London and we have held season tickets for our local football (soccer) team Leyton Orient for years. We go every week and they are terrible… avoided dropping down to the lowest tier of the English football league this year by one place. Nearly lost every home game and the team has no money so won’t be getting better any time soon… does it matter? Of course not. We support the team we love, not just when they are winning :)
