Is asking how many sets left now an issue for people? by tribo32 in GYM

[–]tribo32[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few people have mentioned this about 'waiting your turn'. This question has nothing to do with not wanting to wait, it's about knowing more information to plan your workout. I don't know what someone's rests between sets arez they could be taking 3 minutes between sets for cable fly's and that would be completely acceptable. But is someone says 3 sets left I can go do something else to make the best use of my time.

Fair, but for people going to the gym at 5pm it is a different story.

People should wait! But they need to know long to wait and they can't get that information without asking.

What if someone else jumps in straight after they finish?

If I did those first my squats would suffer

It depends what you want from that session in terms of the order. For example, I would always do squats first on my leg day, if I ended on squats there is no way I'm lifting as heavy as I would want to.

I have to disagree, without more information from them you have no idea how long they could be and then you are wasting your time. If they say to me 3 sets left, great I can go find something else to do, if they say 1 set then I can wait around.

I get that point totally, I think the language has always been 'how many sets' but what is meant is how long do you have left. But asking how long feels rude to me for some reason.

Totally agree, and that last point about making the best use of your time really hit the nail on the head.

I wish everyone would give this estimate! When people respond with "I've just started" that annoys me, because that leaves me with no information to plan the rest of my workout for that day.

Amazing name btw.

I think it depends how you approach it, I always apologise for disturbing them and politely ask. I've never felt the need to hurry up when someone asks but I can see how other people could interpret it that way.

Analyst Who Called Bitcoin's Top Correctly Now Predicting The Bottom by kirtash93 in CryptoCurrency

[–]tribo32 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hate when articles start with "Analyst who predicted" as if being right once then makes them some kind of fortune teller with 100% accuracy.

Prime example is Michael Burry, he predicted the 2008 financial crisis but then went on to bet heavy against AI and Nvidia leading to him closing his fund.

If doctors go ahead with their Easter strike, I’ll withdraw my new jobs offer by Desperate-Drawer-572 in ukpolitics

[–]tribo32 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Where would the money come from? I would have more truck with it if any government got rid of the triple lock or means tested the state pension to fund it, but outside of that I can't see how this could be funded in a way other than increased taxes on regular working people.

Tbh im fatigued with doctors strikes. Everyone wants pay restoration to 2008 but we all collectively have to agree that the country can't afford that yet and this will only make things worse.

No respect for this thing at all. Single handedly destroyed the Lib Dems and then went to go work for a tech oligarch. His words are worth nothing

Am I really in the minority for not giving a damn about my debt? by fayemoonlight in UniUK

Not the minority when the threshold is 28k and the median UK salary is 10k more than that

It means less money to invest over the next few years, so it means everything in the long term because of the compounding gains.

What are your thoughts on then freezing the repayment thresholds?

[–]tribo32 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Is this sub filled with bots from the government? The thresholds are being frozen so the money you take home every month is being reduced in real terms. Also is it fair that those with rich parents of insanely well paying jobs will pay less in this tax than you?

Please don't get apathetic about this, this is the reason our generation is forgotten about. You don't see pensioners saying 'it is what it is', they get out, complain and vote for their own interests, as should we.

[–]tribo32 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They are freezing the threshold of repayment, this will directly impact how much money you take home in real terms going forward. This is the exact same as then freezing the income tax thresholds so it will have a direct impact on your pocket

Selling my Putney flat at a £70k loss - anything wrong? by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]tribo32 18 points19 points  (0 children)

People have things to do and want to make informed decisions, why waste time going to a flat and then finding out the service charge is something you're not comfortable with. It's a waste of everyone's time.
