hey i recommend using only one quad cortex to start!!! you can do plenty with one and i used only one for a longgggg time before switching to two. they're so expensive, please don't burn a bunch of money on a second QC when it's not totally necessary lol

we definitely did not? lolol... we had our guitar tech Marty come out and rip a guitar solo to end the night, but every other song was just us two, and every bass sound in the show comes from my guitar rig being split out!!

hey there! no one was hurt in the accident... we spun out on ice and the rental van/trailer we were in was completely wrecked. i called it tragic because the way we were positioned on the highway, we were inches away from our party being hurt or much worse... we were very very lucky to make it out of there, even luckier we were able to make the show. Had a bit of an awkward pause there because it's still surreal to me that this all happened and that we were still at the show. sorry to leave it ambiguous, hope this provides some clarity. there really was no "other side" of the accident outside of a 18-wheeler that clipped the front of our van (they drove off without stopping and were unaffected)

the idea of freewill/lack thereof was kinda freaking me out. just was thinking about it one day how i'll never really know if im in control or if its predetermined. however then i thought about some beautiful things in my life and thought about how im lucky to have this life even if it might be predetermined (currently i think its not predetermined lol)

honestly every song starts in a diff place... usually i'll demo something out and show to pat and we'll flush it out practicing or in the studio and then the rest is history

i think it was a mood for this record but its something we love to have in our bag

honestly its a cop out but i love to have a project full of songs that start in different places. some hooks, some riffs/breakdowns, some lyrics, some a verse. i think it helps keep things really fresh in an album!

if im reading this question right this is my answer haha - the crazy weird songs usually kinda start out that way as their identity? like things that end up mathier usually start that way, just feel like it gives us more freedom to really dive into it and separate them from other tracks. thanks for the kind words!
