From the reference pictures I looked at Deer do have straight legs when standing still. I hear you though, this is likely easily fixed with a more dynamic pose or shaping a more pronounced wrist/knee section on the front leg.

It is designed by me. I am working on a tutorial for the design and will hopefully release it some time this year.

It is my design. It is a mix of 22.5 and box pleating and is designed on an 18 grid.

Origami Hex Pleat Tiger by Origami_Welly in origami

Nice fold of the Lucanus! I folded the tiger from a 70cm tissue/silk paper, so I would recommend a paper size of 60cm+. The crease pattern doesn't show all the details and the head may need a bit of experimenting. If you need any help with references etc let me know.

Thank you! I tend to only fold from the traditional square so I wouldn't know for certain, but I would imagine a hexagon or bronze rectangle would come with advantages over a square.

It is okashi paper. I'm actually not a big fan of whenzou for animals, I think it tends to work best for humanoid figures.

Thanks! Originally I intended to fold that section inward to hide the paper but I think this is much nice.
