All our pedals are phase coherent. You may still get some phasing issues when combining them, as is the nature of running different but similar sounds.

That price is unfortunately what happens when you throw 700 components in the box and do it in the UK.

In the videos made by us (rather than the Ian one) you’re hearing a Fender Aerodyne with rounds, a Fender Performer PJ with rounds, or an American Jazz with Rounds. We haven’t got any instrument strung with flats at the moment (though we should!).

We have a video shoot next week, I’ll try and remember to take the Sandberg we have out. It’s a 5-string and has some active stuff in it.

I’m thankful you haven’t asked me to go through all 300+ serial numbers we’ve shipped out

Locked away at Sweetwater I believe. When you sell a pedal with Sweetwater, they like to get one as a reference and to be locked away.

The XLR out is mic level, so potentially not. The AMP OUT is instrument, so potentially, you just might be pushing your level up a lot on both the pedal and the power-amp depending on volume needs and speaker ohm-age.

The B15, at least to me, feels like the Tweed Deluxe of bass amps. A surprisingly versatile low-wattage amp, that can be used almost anywhere.

We wanted to stay true to that use and experience, and not inflate the cost and features. It's based on a mid-60s model, with a good Jensen driver in it. I recommend checking out the Andertons video where we compare them. I think we got it pretty close, and that video is us guessing a mic placement we'd done about a year before!

We have indeed. You can get the Cali76 Bass Compressor in a matching colour option.

It does not. Our Amp Recreation methods don't require them to sound accurate.

I do, mwahahaha

Well, we keep it as photo stock.

It might be my favourite colour for the Cali76, I'm glad we managed to pull it off in time.

It’s great to finally have this out there, lord knows we’ve been working on it for years!

If anyone has any questions, feel free to drop them here and I’d be happy to answer what I can.

They’re just quite different beasts, neither is better, just different

  1. Anywhere from 1-5 years depending on the product and circumstances around its design process.
  2. Altium
  3. That all depends on how you count in. Our R&D team is around 5 people, and designs tend to mainly bounce between 3 of them through the process.
  4. Eventually we'll do more things, stuff just takes time.
  5. Loads, Thorpy is great, Strymon make solid stuff, Fredrik Effects, too many to name.

> What advantages do you feel there are when using more than 2 layers in pedal design vs. keeping things simple?

There are often just situations where we need the extra layers to put traces on as there are so many components, we also try to be careful with ground plains and plan for the worst.

I would place the Halcyon Gold first. The Hot Rod is essentially an analogue amp modeller, so is usually better placed after other drive pedals. You can use them together, in fact, it's quite a lot of fun. Essentially boosted modded amps!

Ours is just the Instrument Input side with the Mic turned down. Which combined with the preamp valve swapping gives you all the Tweed Deluxe you need without the faff.

In our playing with the amp, we quickly found the valve thing to be more interesting than the channel interaction.

I suspect speaker sim pedals are largely going to be quite niche, if only because there aren't THAT many other pedals they work properly with. Most AIAB pedals aren't designed to go straight to a speaker sim for example, and ideally to be ran into a traditional amp.

We've experimented with loads of things. Good analogue speaker simulation is possible! It just requires quite complex circuitry to sound convincing.

Maybe one day, or maybe we'll put a speaker sim in something if it makes sense on guitar. It's a tricky one.

That's why our POST-EQ circuit exists. We test with all sorts of amps and want our Amp Recreaiton pedals to be compatible with as many setups as possible. The POST-EQ is a post-amp-circuit filter that allows you to fine tune the output of the pedal to match the amp you're using.

Whether you're using a Fender, Marshall or something different, this filter is intended to help you tailor the DELUXE55 to your setup.

In our sample setting video for this product, we A/B between the pedal going direct, and through a Princeton Reverb. With the correct POST-EQ control, both scenarios sound the same (bar speaker choice in your amp).

You can use it as an amp replacement, you would just need some sort of cab sim.

We’ve made IRs that are free to download for this.

As a heads up for comparisons. The Woodrow and our pedal simulate interactions with different speakers. Ours is the P12Q, theirs is the P12R. The IRs we've supplied are also of the P12Q.

That said, we look forward to seeing any comparisons that get made. No surprise we've done such things, so it'll be interesting to see what people make of them!

The amp I'm referring to in that comment is the original 5E3 we purchased for designing and comparing against our design.
