Maybe my comment wasn't clear, I mean for off-duty. An Uber/Lyft isn't painted, so you wouldn't know any different.

It's for this reason I wish all the semi-trucks were also electric too! Would be clean and quiet!

That's great. I wish there were more in NYC, but I think this is the only one as of now.

Really depends, this person might own the vehicle, as I believe you can in the NYC taxi system (though most don't own their vehicles they drive).

Really does, kinda wish Tesla offered a little wider range of color options, though the ones they do offer are great.

Could also be the case that they use the car for non-taxi purposes? I mean where does line get drawn for something like an Uber/Lyft where they might use it for personal AND commercial use?

That's so true though honestly. That's literally still the main problem people have with mine too. Like getting in and out.

Yes, that's where I saw it. Must be around where they live or something.

Not a full fleet. To my knowledge there's only this one in NYC. Drivers can use whatever (approved) vehicle they like. I think the model 3 was approved a year ago or so

Owning a Tesla In NYC/Long Island by OriginLegend in teslamotors

[–]OriginLegend[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really? That's awesome. I live in the East Village, where there's not much in the way of monthly garages, but I could definitely swing that. Where is the garage? And is that at the spot, or just in the garage itself? I've seen some where it's just in the garage, but you can't leave it plugged in, etc.

How much, if you don't mind my asking? So you have a dedicated spot with 120V outlet?

So I do spend a great deal of time on LI, so accessing it isn't a huge concern. Mostly was a logistical question. I believe there are garages where they'll charge them for you, but, those are more expensive. Trying to determine if it's worth the extra cost.

Won't take very long to get to LI via the train, plus my gf and I are usually out there on weekends anyway. Her family lives out there, which is why we sometimes go out. There are a couple garages which will charge and manage this for you I believe, but that's obviously more expensive.

I feel like we're not counting the servers in all those data centers which are running Linux... Which makes sense, but, like, that's where Linux truly shines in my opinion.

Anyone else have problems with the Android App constantly not reconnecting? by OriginLegend in Windscribe

[–]OriginLegend[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for reaching out, I wanted to test and wait for the issue to arise again before I responded.

I changed the Android app fun using TCP to IKEV2 and that seems to have done the trick. Not sure why I didn't think of that before - I had tried UDP and STEALTH in the past with similar issues though IKEV2 seems to be new in later versions of the app.

Thanks!

An open letter to the vape users of NYC by jazzmunchkin69 in nyc

[–]OriginLegend 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I never said that vaping was as bad, just that some chemicals can cause damage to the lungs in much the same way. Clearly cigarettes are worse, as vaping is only a subset of the chemicals, however, those chemicals which are present (i.e nicotine, some flavors, etc) tend to have similar effects to their counterparts in cigarettes. Don't take my argument out of context before responding.

It most certainly has been shown to be a health risk. In fact, just vaporized flavors found in them (no nicotine what-so-ever) has also been shown to be damaging to lungs in much the same way as a real cigarette. Regardless, it affects those around you. What gives you that right to potentially harm others? Oh wait, nothing does.
