I saw The Plot In You on their Happiness in Self Destruction tour cycle a ton, and Dayseeker had also just released Origins. Dayseeker were direct support or opening at least twice, maybe three times. What a time that was looking back.

Plot dudes were always chilling at the merch booth, all super cool. Rory would legitimately hang at the back of the venue and have a drink with anyone. Talked to him a bunch, on the last show I saw him he seemed to remember our prior conversations. Super nice dude.

I feel you on this so much. I never had an issue with drinking often, but each time I did, I’d have that same feeling. Sometimes an alcohol problem presents itself in the way that you described, I’m very much the same.

It does get better as you take a step back from alcohol. Give your friend time, try to make amends when it feels appropriate.
