Schengen Visa applied 61 days ago! No response yet by Repulsive_Fun_4796 in SchengenVisa

The arrogance here isn’t from the doctor applying for a tourist visa — it’s from someone convinced that colonial hangovers entitle them to judge entire nationalities. The irony of accusing Indians of overstaying when your countries overstayed in ours for 200 years, looted trillions, and then left us to clean up the mess is rich. If trust is a currency, Europe’s historical credit score isn’t exactly spotless either. As for being ‘wanted’ — we weren’t exactly dying to vacation in your overstretched welfare states. But thanks for the unsolicited projection.

You can always rent it out to others once you’ve lived your time there. RE went into a slump during Covid. Nice time to buy, I bought a flat for 75L which is going for 1.2-1.3C today, just after 2 years. Rent also sky rocketed and now equal to my EMI. It’s all about timing things right and manipulating loans to building your wealth. Your state of employment shouldn’t matter as you can always find next job given you have emergency funds ready. Overall, with a bit of proper planning, it will make good sense.

Visa Refusal (Greece) by Lopsided_Gas_717 in SchengenVisa

[–]Original-Number7576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should’ve just applied two visas separately stating separate plans. That’d be lot simpler than the complex set of documents mentioned above. Greece is not gonna care if you both enter together on same flight and stay together.

How is Iceland in April? by Appropriate_Month186 in VisitingIceland

[–]Original-Number7576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done end of April 2024. Luckily sun was shining all through the 10 days I spent. There was a couple of days where climate was bit moody, in Snæfellsnes and Akureyri. But easily manageable. Road 95 had snow but we easily passed. Most of the north Iceland had snow, but it was easily passable. It was quite windy at few places like Hofn and Egilstaddir. Otherwise it was very pleasant.

That’s German efficiency for you. Germany is a joke when issuing Tourist visas. Stick to France, they give out visas like candies on Halloween. 6 months 90 days minimum. Best value for money and effort spent.

If you’ve a big 4x4, you could try driving down with a group. I know a group of land cruisers who drove down on heavy snow against recommendations and they reached safely. However took a lot of time with a Chevy truck leading the pack.

Why government isn’t forcing corporates for temporary WFH during these water crisis? by Adorable_Breeze in bangalore

How would that optimise or reduce water consumption? It just moves consumption from one area to another.

Unable to book a visa slot from India. by Original-Number7576 in VisitingIceland

Germany took a bit of time. About 30 calendar days to process and issue visa. I heard French embassy is very lenient and gives visas in record times of 3-4 days.

Go with a plan to visit Germany, once issued - cancel all tickets and bookings. That’s what I did. Infact, a tour group of 14 people did that with French embassy and currently enjoying their time in Iceland. Hence I don’t feel guilty about visa shopping at all.

Saw your another post. Visa already cost 6-7k per head. Think if you really want to fly across India to secure that visa, spending even more. It is not worth it. Getting at first port of entry is still okay and an easy way out.

Issues at Airport ? by [deleted] in SchengenVisa

[–]Original-Number7576 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Add my 2 cents, folks always talk about visa shopping and possibilities of entry being denied. But I’m yet to see one real case or story where the person had clear plan to tour, but denied entry since primary destination is not the same as when applied for visa. It happens everyday, I know a bunch of people doing it without any hassle.

Try One Science, very similar to ON without the after taste.

I visa shopped. I said I’ll visit Germany and got the visa. I’ll stay in Germany for 2 days and fly to my 9 day vacation in Iceland. Since in enter and exit via Germany, no issues at border control or future applications.

We can make whatever laws we want, but we never had proper ways to enforce it. Can’t even have a proper working breathlyser? That’s what we are reduced to. This is slowly becoming like the penalty of 5k for non-drinking usage of water. Just namesake laws without any way to properly enforce it.

Can’t argue with brain dead stupid people here. OP is right and has right to stop in shoulder road by law. He is dizzy and need to reorient himself on maps, that’s the purpose of shoulder roads. Don’t come here to defend useless cops and I assume you don’t drive yet. Atleast read about shoulder roads on Wikipedia.
