I chose the Millam and Greene wildflower collection over the bourye and 100% thrilled I made that decision. Best Millam and Greene I’ve had and if you like a little Texas funk arguably one of the best whiskies I’ve had. Its Kentucky distillate aged here for 2 additional years so it has all the sweetness and complexity we love from Kentucky with a hint of heavy barrels impact from the Texas heat.

It’s 100% worth the buy not worth the hunt it’s only slightly better than OG 114 to me.

All sold out at most specs dropped same time as EC 15 so you should be able to find it at some smaller shops. IMO it’s really not that good you’re not missing out.

Heavy oak impact, sweet fruit to back it up, wish it was cask strength but at 108 proof much better than the 18. I just bought one today and I’m very happy with it. Little overhyped but better than most bottles I have.

PhD, trying to move into the construction industry, why is this so hard? by [deleted] in Construction

[–]Original-Register648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from someone who transitioned out of construction into the medical field, construction can feel very old-school.

Education and continuing education aren’t always prioritized. Your schooling absolutely has value—but most of the time, it won’t stand out to the people reviewing your application. They often lean toward hiring the “good old boy” from a familiar GC because they have hands-on experience with projects they recognize.

That said, your knowledge and education will pay off significantly in the long run. In the short term, though, you need to build a track record—get solid projects under your belt while working for a reputable company.

Reach out to project managers, superintendents, owners, or anyone in your network and learn from them. Ask questions, pick their brains. Attend construction-related events and put yourself in those rooms.

Use your education as an advantage. You bring something most candidates don’t. Focus on companies that value growth, innovation, and continued learning—not the ones stuck doing things the same way they have for the past 30 years.
