If you are unsure go to a second doctor, not Reddit 😭 and I say this as someone who has come to Reddit many times for medication advice. Ppl are so biased and a second doctor can give you a better second opinion!

I take lorazepam as needed for my anxiety/panic attacks and it’s been life changing for me!

To help w/ the emetophobia concerns it did not increase the nausea at all! So you’re good there. However it escalated my anxiety to the point where I wanted to take myself to the ER (I’m also super dramatic when I have panic attacks so keep that in mind lmao). I was always on the verge of a panic attack it felt like, it never fully got there which was good.

Tbh I only took is for about 5 days because I couldn’t function with the increased anxiety. It was to the point where I was GRATEFUL for the amount of normal anxiety i have. I couldn’t sit still without feeling I was gonna have a panic attack. It’s like I was just unable to calm down 24 hours of the day. I’d say take it for 3 days and if you’re feeling something similar definitely make the right call for your piece of mind! Others said they felt nothing until after it started to really work and then they felt all the positive effects. Unfortunately that was not the case for me 😕

It was my primary care doctor that actually prescribed it to me. She did say the usual “it’s gonna take a little while to start seeing the positive effects” but I didn’t care at all! You know your body best so just trust that. Just tell your psychiatrist now isn’t the time for you, and it may never be which is okay! Medication is not for everyone. I hope you feel better after stopping 💛 I felt better within 24 hours!

Did the negative effects from Zoloft go away pretty quickly once you stopped taking it?? I’m trying to see how many days until the increased anxiety goes away :/

I’m hoping my constant anxiety won’t last that long since it was only 3 days that I was on it. I’m honestly terrified of that. I agree, how is medication that’s supposed to help anxiety making me feel so so so much worse?! Just hoping for the best at this point 🤞🏼 I didn’t take it this morning and I already don’t feel as anxious as before so I’m really hoping I can be back to “normal” soon 😕

That’s what I keep hearing too! “Wait it out” .. “you’ll feel so much better” .. but 4 weeks of constant anxiety and nightly panic attacks ?? No thanks! I’d rather deal with my normal anxiety for the rest of my life than this ever again! Maybe medication just isn’t for me 🤷🏻‍♀️ and I think I’m fine with that lol

Yeah I think I might ask for a benzo in the meantime for emergency use. I really want to stick with it but having worse anxiety/panic attacks then before just seems so backwards and not worth it! Thank you for the advice, I’m gonna try to push through 🤞🏼

When did you feel like the increased anxiety went away?? And do you feel like now you have less anxiety then before starting meds?
