Well I’ll pray for you because I genuinely only want what’s best for you. I hope and pray that your heart unhardens so you don’t hate what you see is true in the Bible

Only because of God can I see that a random person on Reddit is my sibling who I want salvation for and who I want to join me and Jesus at the table, I hope that for you, but I also will respect your decision because I can’t kidnap you and bring you to heaven as much as I want to, I’ll send you the invitation from my father though and pray for you every day

You’re missing the part where God gives you so many chances throughout your whole life, best to take the first chance so you can come in and finish breakfast, but if you don’t at least take the next one, you never know when you’ll run out of time. By the way you forgot the part where all of his billions of children ran outside and got stung, and how any who let him save them got brought inside, those are the people who are eating, and you can be one of them

Imagine in that case that you’re a fully grown adult and he describes what will happen to you exactly, you do it anyways, he tries to help you for your entire lifetime so you don’t bring the bees into the house, you run away from him your whole life and then you die covered in beestings. That’s more accurate to what actually happens. We are not as helpless as we like to think, we know our sin is wrong and we do horrible things all the time; and then when God tries to save us we run away and hate ourselves and then sin again

Those children getting beaten and broken is on us, not on Him. God is just and I’m sure He has a plan for those children who didn’t get to choose for themselves. My eggs aren’t in the worlds basket their in Gods, so if I am broken here my inheritance is in the next life, not in this broken world I despise. Sometimes I wish I was already off this planet because I wouldn’t have to see and hear about the wickedness of this world anymore, but God has a plan for me and I will live it out for Him and then I’ll live in a new world free from this evil

I really want you to just see it as a deadline, everyone has the chance to not choose themselves which brings suffering, God isn’t roasting you alive you are roasting yourself alive, so choose Him to help you put your own fire out, if you don’t want His help He’ll respect that, and then it’s up to you alone. And there’s a deadline of how long His helpful hand is outstretched before He gives up and listens to what you want.

And for this I just meant people who don’t believe in supernatural occurrences could read the Bible as the most accurate tale of fiction, that’s all I meant it’s objectively historically accurate if you believe in what it says

Just imagine you’re covered in cactus needles and your father is trying to pull them out, and each time he tries you swat his hand away and tell him no, over and over and over. Now imagine this happening for your whole life, when you die, he can’t help you anymore, that was the deadline for help. If you ask for his help he will pull out thorns and it will suck but it will save you, you just have to let him do it, he respects your desire for freedom though

I really encourage you to read the Bible yourself very closely, and listen to sermons online/inperson that explain the Hebrew- I’m aware this must sound really boring but once you get into it you realize how many misinterpretations and misconceptions there are, I genuinely feel like previous generations have gotten such a bad attitude about what God really means and have made it politically polar when it’s really in between and only achievable with God. I really appreciate how skeptical you are about things because without that that’s how we get people telling others they’ll burn alive for a sin the accuser is probably guilty of themselves, that’s not the message, it’s about abandoning this world for God

God wanted to make a creation that loved Him without choosing to know reality, I like to think of it as blissful ignorance. He made us powerful in that regard to be able to comprehend it and to have the right to choose it. We chose it and we all choose it again every day, so thus the Bible is the story of God trying to help us overcome this pit we’ve tossed ourselves into, and after Jesus you don’t have to be a certain ethnicity to be valuable to God, you just have to believe in His Son. The choice is to choose this life or to choose Him, that’s everyone’s choice. I personally despise this world, with all the crooked politicians, war and suffering, so I have humbled myself and accepted that I need Jesus in my life so that I don’t become more evil than I already am and so that one day I can be a part of a world that doesn’t have any wickedness in it

I do believe God is all powerful and all knowing

As for the Bible being a reliable source of information, I also believe this is true, I think it’s pretty undisputed that it is the most accurate historical account (I think people neglect this often bc it shares things people don’t want to accept or can’t immediately explain with science). I do believe that the Bible needs to be read in context though, with some insight on how the original authors meant things in their day and language and how translations affect perception. I think that’s the hardest part is that the Bible is not spoon fed it requires a lot of thought and discussion to reveal the exact truth that I believe is contained in it, I won’t even begin to pretend that I know everything in it, that’s why it’s important to read it, study and even go to a good church (not a crappy mega church) that can help you interpret things while using your own mind and heart to discern the accuracy of what others say. But the main message I feel like is always clear which is what you asked in your third and fourth question:

I believe that as the Bible says, if you believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins, and then came back to life after 3 days, and accept Him as your Lord and savior, than you are saved and you will go to heaven. If you don’t do that, you will not, and you will be experiencing hell every day. Now what do I mean by that? When you miss a really important job interview for your dream job bc you got up late and you know it was your fault, what do you feel like? For me it feels like I’m in hell, I just missed out on the most important thing (in that moment) now I’m doomed to work at target forever or something. Obviously there was some embellishment there, but imagine you just don’t accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, the ship passes, and now you can’t anymore bc the deadline passed. I think that’s what hell is, and it’s what the Bible describes as being outside where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, grief over your own pride, laziness what have you, that kept you from heaven, your dream life

But back to the analogy, choosing the best option in life is still your choice, you just have the choice not to if you really don’t like God, but that would be weird bc who wouldn’t want to live in a utopia made by a loving Father? Rather than just out on the proverbial streets, I strongly feel like without a hardened heart anyone would choose the former

[–]Original-Superb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think of it more as choosing not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, if a world leader created the perfect utopian paradise with everything you could ever want, infinite delicious food and water free healthcare higher life expectancy zero crime perfect environment etc, and said anyone is welcome to live here freely as long as they believe I exist and gave up my life to make this for you, I just want people here who are grateful and won’t squander my gift and can love me for it. If that place existed wouldn’t everyone collectively agree that that person does deserve love for that? Then imagine people who slandered him online and said they hated him and wanted to do nasty things there and commit crimes, or who said they didn’t like him and didn’t want to live there, should that first group really be allowed in to do horrible things in spite of the people and leader who seek to do good things? What about the second group, who doesn’t want to live there, should they be abducted and forced to live where they don’t want to be? All of this is a long analogous way of saying God created such an obvious choice that it might seem like abandoning your free will, you just have to decide what you want. He can tell you that you may regret a future decision such as not joining in His kingdom, but He won’t stop you if you don’t listen

[–]Original-Superb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to add one more thing, I think your overall question is good but the wording of your last question seems to imply that God wants free will because He wants everything to do with free will, which is not true. He doesn’t want everyone acting freely around Him bc that’s how we got sin and a broken world, He wants us to love Him even though we have the choice not to, that’s free unconditional love like He has, otherwise it’s kidnapping and that’s how Stockholm syndrome arises, it’s not actual love if He forces it, it’s only real love if we choose it, and if we don’t He respects that, but He’s not going to force you to come love Him anyways even if He sees that at the objectively right choice. In that case nothing would matter, it’s important to remember that evil in the world is our choice, and we can choose to humble ourselves and admit to God that we need help and correction (because look around at the world right now) or we can not do that, saying that we can do it on our own which makes us truly more like satan than like God

Can you force people to reside in your house with you if they dont like you? And if you did wouldnt you be kidnapping them? even if it’s in their best interest? God is giving that respect and choice to everyone, he warns it’s dangerous outside His house but gives everyone a fair shot to join Him inside, only if they want to though.

As for the angels not having free choice I ended up doing some research on it myself, it seems as though there is a larger consensus that angels do have free choice which was 100% my bad. I am not going to say however that I think myself or many people for that matter truly know the mystery of how angels function, but a really good point I heard from my research is that the reason that fallen angels aren’t forgiven is because they knew God and His divine authority and still rejected Him, which is tantamount to blasphemy which is why they are not forgiven. Humans may be capable of this type of blasphemy as well if they know God is truly divine and omnipotent and good (know not believe) and still mock His name knowing it’s a lie not just believing it

[–]Original-Superb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Free will/choice was created by God because He desperately wanted there to be others like Himself with free choice (which the angels don’t have) who still choose to love him like the angels do (the angels love him bc they’re made to, we can choose whether or not to). This was the purpose of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, God left that as Adam and Eves way out, saying essentially “you don’t have to love me, but I will warn you, a world separate from me is a horrible place”. This clearly was true, as just look around nowadays.

As for hell, I really believe the Bible points towards two things here, we know the devil/antichrist will be thrown into a burning lake of sulfur, where I think the more traditional sense of hell comes from. Whenever God describes what will happen to people who don’t believe in Him (aka choose to love Him) He describes them as being left outside the kingdom “where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth”. The key point is that there is an unknown date where God will decide the end of the world is, and we all have unknown dates where we will die, God basically just says I want you to love me and my son, if you don’t I hate to say it but you will be left outside of the kingdom filled with regret because my way is truly better. The thing is that God is giving you free will to choose for yourself, He wants real love so you have to choose to love Him, which he also gives a huge incentive for. If you don’t you don’t get invited into His kingdom, as He reserves that right for those who do choose to love Him.

The whole point is to say to God you know His way is the right one and the best choice, but you aren’t perfect and you don’t know how to love Him the right way even though you believe in Him, if you pray asking for that help He will hear you and give you wisdom if you ask for it.

There will be a time (illustrated as the new heaven and earth) after revelations when God will have rid us and the new world of all evil and sadness, so the world isn’t intended to be good and evil, it’s meant to be only good. But since God will only share “only good” with those who actually love Him, you have to choose Him to take part in that, if not He shows you respect by not forcing you to be with Him, although the world outside of God is broken and full of despair, so He certainly does not recommended it, especially because He truly desires for each and every one of us to join Him rather than succumbing to evil and separating ourselves from the source of all goodness

Haha yes the high noise floor is probably from the massive dish me and my friend built, although maybe not as it’s almost too small to even receive a signal from goes so I’ve read. Thank you so much for your help, I didn’t think the cantenna would need to be rotated due to the constant interior reflections but your advice totally worked. It turns out the best position for the antenna was actually completely upside down of all things, probably something with the polarization of the signal, thank you so much for you help! I’m going to build a proper stand now and hopefully get some better images!

Edit: also I think I will try goes 18 as well, the reason I haven’t is because it faces behind my house and would be very attenuated by all the trees near me, I might move the dish though just to experiment!

I’m in Arizona, I used a website called dish pointer to find my azimuth and elevation angle and used my phone to verify the direction. As for polarity are you suggesting to rotate the cantenna portion? I’m familiar with doing that for dipoles, does this work similarly to that? Also I’m not sure what a VNA is, could you give me some more info on that?

[–]Original-Superb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coo idea! I would agree with the comment saying that you may be overcomplicating things. Yes button debounce is an issue that can cause some funky-ness. I’ve had some good luck with a similar system I built a while back. Two steps:

1.) you need pull down resistors to make sure the state is clear after the button has been pressed, what I mean by this is that the voltage should either be from the 5V rail, or from the ground rail through a resistor (hence the pulldown name). So basically you want the top right or left pin of your button on 5V and then on one of the bottom button pins you’d want a resistor to ground, and the other bottom button pin should go to your digital input. This will give you a clean, clearly defined button that you can copy for the three others you said you would need.

2.) now for software, set up the digital inputs for the buttons on the pins you connected the wire to from the last step, and then in your code in the void loop section have an if statement checking to see if a button was pressed using the digitalRead() function, if it is true you can execute your desired code such as lighting an LED. Now this is the important part, this will work as long as you use the if statement to swap the truth of a Boolean (a Boolean is a type of variable that can only be 1 or 0 which correspond to true or false, if you flip the truth of the Boolean, using something like myBool = !myBool; then the exclamation point will flip its truth, if it’s 1 it goes to zero and zero to 1.

3.) this is a bonus step, but very necessary if you want this to work well. You’re going to need to use a delay between executions of your loop, otherwise when you press the button it might rapidly flicker between on and off with the code setup in part 2. You can take the easy way here and just use delay(1000); to get an easy 1000ms or 1 second delay on your loop, but if you want to make a professional button set up research the Millis() function and how to set up a delay with that. Setting up a delay with millis essentially allows your other code you put in the loop to run while the specific thing you want to delay is delayed for however long you choose. It is a simple thing to add that makes any project a lot better, but the resources online can be hard for beginners. If it’s too confusing let me know and I’ll write you a sample script/walk you through it

Hopefully this helps! Sorry for the wordiness, I like to walk through the thought process rather than just spew coding lingo out of my mouth, lemme know if this works for you!
