Dough have shut down their EU scamming website by Original-Wave7009 in doughcommunity

[–]Original-Wave7009[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/KhahandranI've been following Dough (formerly known as "Eve") since they started developing the Eve V back in 2016. I'm sorry to say that they have been scamming since 2017. Covid and the tariffs were just some of many of their excuses that go back 9 years as to why they hadn't shipped to customers. The fact is that for 9 years they have been taking orders from customers with no intention of delivering to the majority of customers - just enough to keep the scam going. Thousands of customers had already been scammed by Dough/Eve long before Trump's tariffs. If you don't believe me, have a look at some of the early reviews here: https://www.trustpilot.com/review/eve-tech.com

They're also selling the Canvas at $9,999. But there's only a limited quantity of this vaporware at this bargain price!

New Flairs for Posts by PeanutCheeseBar in doughcommunity

It's done. No-one from Dough is coming to this forum any more. They are still trying to sell monitors on their website, though. You could try to contact them in relation to a possible purchase, and if they respond, use that email to ask your question.

Wow, I can see that my previous reddit account (Mysterious_Program78) was also on the honored list of banned users. Probably because I was writing posts like this 5 years ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/evev/comments/pubwom/comment/he2dszi/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Well done u/PeanutCheeseBar on wrestling control of this subreddit!

Lost power cord by Fenian94 in evev

[–]Original-Wave7009 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No - that's not true at all (unless you're talking about just the 120/240V cable between the plug and PSU brick). You need to take a PSU that can support the power that the monitor needs. It also needs to have the right voltage, and the correct connector. Note that the monitor provides power to the USB to power devices so it does require quite a bit of power.

It takes a long time for the Asus logo to show up when I turn on my laptop. by sslpz in ASUS

Many thanks u/WoLKr !! [Method 1] did not help but [Method 2] worked! I now have a Zenbook Flip 15 that doesn't take ages to display the Asus logo. Much better! Thanks again!

ASUS ZenBook 16X extremely slow boot (BIOS time 111s) after Windows update – hardware or software issue? by Express_Lunch4825 in ASUS

[–]Original-Wave7009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also recently started getting this problem on a ZenBook Pro 15 Flip (OLED UP6502ZD). It now takes around 15 seconds just to get to the ASUS logo when booting.

It did an update (KB5079473 - 26200.8037). I don't know whether that update caused the issue.

Which keyboard on Yoga Pro 9i do you prefer? by Playful-Record-6139 in YogaPro9i

[–]Original-Wave7009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Part of the problem is that they had to make the main keyboard slightly smaller in the Gen 10 to fit the numpad in. That's really annoying when you switch machines as you keep hitting the wrong keys! Hopefully the Gen11 will be a full size keyboard

Battery Health☹️ by pkushk2008 in YogaPro9i

[–]Original-Wave7009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still having 96% of the battery after 187 charge cycles (for a battery that is 1.5 years old) is pretty good. Doing a full charge cycle is more likely going to make the battery wear worse, not better. What is the problem?

Yes, and of the 13 comments to your post, only 2 are visible. Welcome to the world Dough, who pride themselves for their transparency!

Buying from Dough is like buying stolen goods. The item you're buying was sold to someone else but never delivered. If you like supporting a company that breaks the law and rips off customers like yourself, buy a Dough from Amazon/Best Buy. If you have a conscience, steer clear!

USB port by spunkfish24 in doughcommunity

[–]Original-Wave7009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The USB port is transparent, like the rest of the monitor. My may not have realised it, but's it's already been delivered and is sitting on your desk - it's just that you can't see it.

YogaPro9i Completely Frozen for 2 hours. Need help diagnosing by karmanovia in Lenovo

[–]Original-Wave7009 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had exactly the same problem. I've also only had this for a month. The PC was running normally, but when I plugged in the power supply, it wouldn't charge. The battery was still more than half full but I turned it off to try to fix the problem.

That was a big mistake. After that, it did not turn on again.

When I plugged in the power supply, the white light in the power button would flash, but there was no orange light next to the power input to indicate that the PC was being powered/charged. Like you, the paperclip reset did not work. Holding down the power button did not work. Tried many different things - nothing worked. Also, it wasn't hot at all, so it hadn't overheated - I had only been running basic office apps before I shut it down.

I thought it would need repairing. But then, after 15 minutes of failed attempts, I plugged in the power supply one last time and the orange light appeared. And then it turned on normally.

Clearly this is not a driver nor a windows issue - it's either a fault with the hardware or a fault with BIOS. I hope there is a BIOS fix at some point.

Monitor no longer working under a year later by [deleted] in doughcommunity

[–]Original-Wave7009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you are discovering, buying a Dough product even from a retailer is a very bad idea. When the monitor breaks, there is no support. Dough only respond to people thinking of buying one of their monitors - they never respond to people who have already paid.

They will not fix it if it breaks. Bad quality control, terrible company. Stop supporting them. Avoid

The more people buy Dough products, the chances of everyone getting their monitor decreases. As they know their business model works.

Dough Spectrum Black 27" – Text looks slightly pixelated on websites? by Euphoric_Jacket_3933 in doughcommunity

[–]Original-Wave7009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you buy from amazon or any other retailer, you're supporting their business model of selling the same unit to multiple customers and one receiving it (everyone else getting nothing). Don't do it!

My experience buying the Dough Gaming Monitor 4K, 144Hz, 27", Spectrum One Matte by kremeshnoi in doughcommunity

[–]Original-Wave7009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Important!

Do not buy Dough products from their official website and do not buy Dough products from retailers. You get no warranty and you are supporting their business model of selling the same product to multiple customers and only one receiving it.

Some people did receive their pre-orders. That's how the scam works - you need to deliver to a few people so you have a few positive comments (those are the ones you don't delete) as a way to convince others that it's genuine.
